School captains, Chelsea and Justin, and School Vice Captains, Charles and Sophie, enjoyed attending the 24th Rankin Leaders Dinner hosted by The Glennie School in Toowoomba.

The annual dinner honours Dame Annabelle Rankin, a Darling Downs local who made history as the first Queensland woman elected to Parliament, the first female federal departmental minister, and the first Australian woman to be appointed head of a foreign mission.

Students enjoyed the opportunity to connect with student leaders from schools across the Toowoomba and Darling Downs region while hearing from guest speakers Dr Rebecca Vonhoff, Deputy Mayor of the Toowoomba Regional Council, and Mrs Emma Lowry, Principal of The Glennie School.

Our student leaders were encouraged to embrace opportunities to serve others, lead with integrity, and make a positive difference in their school and community.

We thank The Glennie School for hosting this valuable event and providing an opportunity for young leaders to learn, connect and grow.

Over the coming week, we will be recognising our Year 12 students who achieved an outstanding 100% result on their first Internal Assessments (IA). These results have been confirmed through QCAA Confirmation - a quality assurance process where student work and school marking are reviewed to ensure results are accurate, consistent and aligned with state-wide standards.

Achieving a perfect result after the rigorous confirmation process is a significant accomplishment and reflects the dedication, hard work and academic excellence of these students, as well as the commitment, expertise and support of their teachers.

These students achieved 25/25 in English IA1. Students were required to construct and deliver a TEDTalk to persuade an Australian audience of their perspective on a contentious social issue which has engaged the public in the last year. Congratulations to these students on achieving an outstanding 100% result on their first internal assessment in English.

The Brisbane Broncos Game Development crew brought rugby league to life in Toowoomba, connecting with more than 600 students across 11 schools.

Well done to the CSHS students who competed at the Darling Downs Cross Country Trials in Highfields on Monday.

Despite the challenging weather conditions, all students showed great resilience and determination throughout the day, with some outstanding results achieved.

We are very proud of your efforts and the way you represented the school.

Good luck to the students that have been selected in the DD team.
