πŸ‘©β€πŸ³πŸŒΏπŸ§‘β€πŸ³ This week in the Kitchen, Garden space πŸ‘©β€πŸ³πŸŒΏπŸ§‘β€πŸ³

It was wonderful to welcome our students back into the Kitchen Garden this week, creating, learning, and reconnecting with our garden space.

We explored ways to use food waste in creative nature art activities and learned how to make delicious pumpkin dumplings by hand, using pumpkins grown right here in our school garden. πŸ₯ŸπŸ‚

A special thank you to Grayson for sharing some thoughtful and constructive feedback. As part of a positive discussion about our program, Grayson recorded his thoughts to help inform future lessons:

"I reckon that all the Kitchen Garden kids and people should get back on top of the garden..." 🌱

It’s clear our students are eager to get their hands back in the soil, grow fresh produce, and enjoy cooking together. We look forward to seeing their enthusiasm continue to flourish throughout the term! 🌻🍽️

πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ Inter-School Cross Country Carnival πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Congratulations to all selected years 3–6 students who proudly represented Austins Ferry Primary School today at the Division B SPSSA Inter-School Cross Country Carnival held at Bayview Secondary College.

All students demonstrated outstanding effort, sportsmanship, determination, and perseverance throughout the day, tackling a challenging course and competing to the best of their ability.

There were several standout performances throughout the day, including Rosie, who finished 1st in the Year 4 girls event; Manreet, who placed 3rd in the year 5 girls event; and Flynn, who finished 4th in the year 6 boys event. A special congratulations also goes to our year 5 boys team, who achieved 1st place overall, a fantastic achievement!

It was exciting to use our new school tent for the first time, which looked fantastic and provided a great base for our team throughout the carnival.

Well done to all participating students on a successful and enjoyable day of competition!

Our Kitchen and Garden specialists, Aleysha and Sharon, treated staff to a delicious homemade pumpkin soup lunch last week, using fresh produce straight from our school garden. πŸ‚πŸŽƒ

It was a wonderful way to celebrate the power of fresh, seasonal food and the joy of sharing it together. Thank you to our wonderful team for warming our tummies on a cold winter’s day.
