We are excited to welcome two amazing Support Coordinators to our team.

After years of running a solo operation it was time to expand the team to enable us to reach more people and expand the service. Being solo meant I only had certain capacity, not enabling us to support as many people as we would of liked.

Our mission stays the same, to support people to remove barriers and enable them to achieve their potential.

Alecia and Leanne both have capacity for Support coordination at the moment. So if you are looking for someone to join your team, make the most of your NDIS plans, advocate for your needs, be in your corner and walk this journey with you please reach out.

Our Teen Dungeons & Dragons group provides a fun, welcoming, and inclusive space where young people can build friendships, develop social skills, boost confidence, and explore their creativity through collaborative storytelling and roleplay.

Whether you're a seasoned adventurer or have never rolled a dice before, everyone is welcome. Our experienced facilitators will guide new players through the game, helping them learn the rules and build confidence at their own pace.

When things are thrown around a political meeting room and put out to the public, this is the impact it has.
Through NDIS support (and a butt tonne of his own grit and determination) this amazing organisation has been built. Seeing the Sk8 Mates brand at many local markets and skating events will disappear if NDIS support is not in place.
Support is not about getting an ice cream or going to the movies ( while very worthwhile supports and only used as an example of what the media is painting NDIS Supports as)
Its about creating something, engaging and enabling someone to follow passions and create dreams.
There are issues within the NDIS that need to be solved, this is not one of them. We need to ensure strong supports are maintained.

An amazing poem written of the experience of needing to catch a train to the city. Maybe a simple task in many peoples eyes, however an almost impossible task for some.

This is why NDIS is vital for people and the impacts of not having the right level of support is so damaging.

Poem

I had to get to an appointment in the city
because life does not pause for overwhelm,
for sound that arrives too loud, too fast, too many directions at once.

The train platform hums before I even see it—
a vibration under the skin,
announcements blurring into metal echoes
that don’t quite land in order.

People move like water I am expected to swim through
without showing I am learning it stroke by stroke
every single time.

I count steps.
I count breaths.
I count exits like lifelines
I might need but hope I won’t.

The city is too much and not enough at the same time
glass reflections doubling faces,
horns that cut through thought mid-sentence,
lights that don’t dim for nervous systems like mine.

I remember to look “fine.”
To stand “normal.”
To soften everything inside me that is trying to fold inwards
just to stay regulated.

But inside, it is not fine.
It is processing everything at once
like a hundred radios tuned to different stations
all insisting they are the one I must listen to.

Still….

I get there.
Somehow I get there.

Shaken, yes.
Quietly holding myself together at the edges.
But present.

And maybe that is the truth no one sees in waiting rooms
that arrival is not simple for some of us.
It is endurance.
It is translation.
It is surviving the journey
so we can sit still long enough
to be seen.

We are excited to share our best kept secret. We have got a hobby farm to share with everyone. This will extend our reach in the community but most of all help reduce the cost of living for people, make fresh food accessible and most of all create an opportunity for clients to get involved.

This has been a dream for a long time and so excited to see it come to life.
This will help us GRO in all the right ways.

At the beginning of this week, one of my clients experienced a house fire. While the mother heroically managed to contain the fire to a single kitchen cupboard, the home has sustained significant smoke and water damage — the latter caused by the fire brigade's efforts to extinguish the blaze.
The mother suffers from severe asthma and has been unable to remain in the home while it is cleaned and restored. She is currently staying in alternative accommodation as the family works through what has been an incredibly stressful and overwhelming situation — washing and cleaning belongings, replacing damaged items, and disposing of those that cannot be saved.
Any support will go directly towards:

Rubbish removal
Professional cleaning
Accommodation costs
Replacing damaged goods

Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a real difference to this family during a very difficult time. Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity.
