Make sure your Alert SA app is the current version to ensure your safety and awareness.

Are you still using the original Alert SA bushfires-only app?

This version will stop operating on Sunday, 13 September 2026.

This change does not affect the current multi-hazard Alert SA app (version 3.6.0), which remains South Australia's trusted source of emergency services public information and warnings.

If you're still using the bushfires-only version, download the current Alert SA app from your device's app store.

You can also access emergency services incident and warning information on the Alert SA website – www.alert.sa.gov.au

📱 Reminder: The AusAlert National Test is Tomorrow.

Tomorrow at 1:30 pm ACST, the Australian Government will conduct the AusAlert national test.

This test is designed to help people recognise what an AusAlert message looks and sounds like, and to ensure the system is ready to be used during real emergencies.

What you can expect

📱 Compatible mobile devices across Australia may receive a Critical AusAlert message.

🔊 Your device may play the alert sound, vibrate and display the message on screen.

⚠️ The test is being sent as a Critical Alert, which cannot be turned off through your device settings.

Before 1:30 pm

✔️ Let family, friends and colleagues know the test is happening.
✔️ If you support older people, people with disability, children, or anyone who may be startled by the alert, take a few moments to explain what they can expect.
✔️ If you have meetings, presentations, classes or events scheduled around 1:30 pm, consider letting attendees know in advance that devices may briefly sound or vibrate.

During the test

✅ Read the message.
✅ There is no action required during today’s national test.
✅ Once you’ve read it, simply dismiss the notification and continue with your day.

The test is an important step in helping ensure Australians are familiar with AusAlert before it’s needed during a real emergency.

Our community is the best community!

Inspired by the recent Thank a First Responder Day on June 10th, Caitlin and Ruth wanted to show their appreciation for local volunteers and put together some fantastic care packages for us and a couple of other local brigades. Stocked with snacks, sunscreen, and hygiene products, these packs will help support our teams during callouts at any time of the year.

From our whole brigade, thankyou so much to Caitlin and Ruth for their generosity and consideration. CFS brigades operate for the community, by the community, and having the support of those who live in our local areas means the world to us.

The team from Cherry Gardens brigade has joined fellow Sturt group brigades to support the Youth Vigil taking place at the Blackwood War Memorial overnight tonight. A yearly tradition, cadets from CFS, St Johns, and local Scouts stand vigil until the dawn service on ANZAC day to show respect to our fallen service members.

We are proud of all cadets who take part, and it is a privilege for our brigades to support this next generation of volunteers.
