What beautiful days we have shared at Bush Kinder last Friday and today 🌿☀️
Our adventures have included visiting the local donkey, stopping quietly on our walk back from the toilets to listen carefully to the frogs, and enjoying picnics together in the sunshine. The children have been busy exploring the natural surroundings - searching for bugs, climbing trees, building, and using their imaginations in so many wonderful ways.
It has been lovely to see the children so engaged, curious, confident and connected with Country as they learn through play, discovery and shared experiences outdoors. 🍃🐸🪵🐞

Anzac Day is a day to remember all those who fought in wars, it marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian forces during the First World War. ANZAC Day honors all Australians and New Zealanders who have served and died in wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping missions.
The Bilby and Wallaby groups made a collaborative art piece and it was taken to the Cheltenham RSL by the Wallaby Group during their Bush Kinder session yesterday. It will be proudly displayed during the dawn service tomorrow.

Looking for something to do today!

KINGSTON COMMUNITY SAFETY DAY
SUNDAY MARCH 29
10AM - 2PM

As part of Neighbour Day activities, Kingston Council are running their annual COMMUNITY SAFETY DAY tomorrow Sunday March 29th from 10am - 2pm in the Karen Street Carpark at southland Shopping Centre.

This is a great opportunity to meet and chat to those community service organisations that include

• Victoria Police

• State Emergency Services

• St John Ambulance

• Crime Stoppers

• Blue Ribbon Foundation

• City of Kingston officers

• Fire Rescue Victoria

• Life Saving Victoria

• and Neighbourhood Watch which will be staffed by NHW Bayside volunteers including myself.

There are the usual hands on activities for the kids as well including

• meeting Paw Patrol mascots

• face painting

• Hoop City basketball skills

• passport hunt activity

• other activities and family fun.

So pop along and learn about these organisations and ask questions about community safety and if you need them we can supply you with FREE non removable number plate screws to protect your car from having your plates stolen and used in crimes.

And of course pop in and simply say hello!

Join us as we unite our local community and emergency services partners!

What a wonderful success our first Bush Kinder session was today! 🌿

The children explored the space together, learning about the boundary as we looked at red ribbons as markers on trees.

They observed birds, searched for bugs and visited the donkey. It was fantastic to see how engaged and excited everyone was, all embracing the adventure and joy that Bush Kinder brings. Over time we will begin to notice and reflect on the changes in the environment.

A heartfelt thank you to our amazing volunteers who help make Bush Kinder possible. We truly appreciate your time and support! 💚

A huge thank you to all the wonderful parents, family members and little helpers who came along to our working bee today. Your time, energy and hard work made such a difference in helping tidy the garden and refresh our outdoor space. Thanks to your efforts, our kindergarten is looking fantastic and ready for the children to enjoy this week. We truly appreciate your support and the wonderful community spirit at Farm Road Pre-School.
There is some lost property left today including a wheelbarrow and t-shirt.

This week, the Early Learning Association of Australia (ELAA) launched the "I Love My Kinder Teacher" Campaign.

Our teachers are the most loved, but worst paid in the country. The Farm Road Pre-school Educators have not had a pay increase in almost 2 years. The Victorian Government funds 100% of our "Best Start, Best Life" (Free Kindergarten) program, which means that only they can fix this.

We would love your support and are asking all of our Farm Road Community (past and present!) to draw a picture of their Farm Road teacher/s. All of the pictures will be collated and sent with a letter to our local MP (Meng Heang Tak), the Premier (Jacinta Allan) and the Education Minister (Ben Carroll) on behalf of our very much loved Farm Road Pre-school Educators.

Today ELAA has launched the I ❤️ My Kinder Teacher campaign.
Right now, Victorian kinder teachers and educators are the most loved – and yet the most underpaid – in the country. This needs to change.

The Victorian Government funds our services 100%, which means only they can fix this. ELAA stands with our members and workforce on the urgent need for fair wages and conditions and calls on the government to fully realise their value.
