We are setup for Beef Week in Barker Street near the Cecil round-a-bout.
Bring the kids down and we will show them some of our specialised gear and through the fire truck.
While you are here, have a chat to our firefighters to find out what it’s like to work as an On-Call Firefighter for Fire and Rescue NSW. We currently have vacancies in Casino and surrounding stations.

School Fire 4/5/2026

At approximately 5am this morning P253, T253, P362a (Lismore), Casino RFS were responded to a school fire at the Casino High School.

On arrival crews were confronted with a developing fire in a class room, firefighters quickly got to work to contain the fire. A single class room was severely damaged by the fire but the attached music room was saved due to the quick actions of our firefighters.

H316 (Goonellabah Hazmat) was also requested to assist.

Unfortunately the school will be closed today due to safety concerns around the fire site.

Bush fire 10/7/2025

At approximately 3:05 PM, Tanker 253 was dispatched to assist P267 (Coraki) with a bushfire. Upon arrival, firefighters coordinated with the P267 Captain and were assigned to support P288 (Evans Head) on the western side of the fire. This incident occurred in a dense swamp area, making most of the fire inaccessible. A back burn was also put in place to stop the fire spreading as some parts of the fire may continue to smolder for a number of hours.

Tonight, 253 firefighters engaged in vital training supported by BAHS1, our Breathing Apparatus Support, Hazmat Support, and Breathing apparatus refresher truck. Our team conducted gas atmosphere tests and completed breathing apparatus recertification within the unit, underscoring the importance of this ongoing professional development for our operations.
Additionally, we'd like to extend our sincere congratulations to Deputy Captain Summers on receiving his first clasp national service metal, recognizing 25 years of outstanding service to our community. The award was presented by Inspector Climo.
