π³π± It was a privilege to attend the 10th Anniversary Celebration of the Utsav Malayalee Samaj Trees for Life Program at The Ridge, Caroline Springs today.
Over the past decade, this remarkable community-led initiative has helped transform the Kororoit Creek corridor, with volunteers planting an incredible 55,000 native plants and contributing to the protection and restoration of local biodiversity, including habitat for the endangered Growling Grass Frog.
It was wonderful to join community members and hear from the distinguished guests in attendance, including Alice Jordan-Baird, Federal Member for Gorton, Mayor Lara Carli, and John Bentley from the Friends of the Melton Botanic Garden.
Congratulations to Utsav Malayalee Samaj, President Biju Thayamkery, and the many volunteers, families and supporters who have contributed to this outstanding achievement over the last ten years. Your dedication has created a lasting legacy for future generations and demonstrates the power of community action in caring for our local environment.
Here's to the next decade of restoring, protecting and celebrating our natural spaces. πΏπ
