Thank you Blaze Aid for the many months of hard work and resilience you brought to our community in the wake of the January bushfires .. you generosity and fortitude has been an immeasurable support to so many who were affected by the fires and has provided inspiration to all of us .
We can’t thank you enough really ..

There will be a get together for BlazeAid volunteers, and those who supported in any way, cooking meals or lending a hand and those who have been helped by their great work over these months are all welcome to join at Gellibrand Hotel

It’s hard to believe nearly five months have passed since the fires started here in Carlisle River. While the scars remain, the landscape is changing dramatically.

​As you can see in these photos from the south of Carlisle River, where there was once only black ash, vibrant green regrowth is taking over.

Our crew and neighbouring brigades have been busy attending escaped burn offs.

This week Carlisle crew took our tanker to support a Planned Burn at Barongarook.

This work is essential in reducing fuel loads in strategic locations in the Otways to prepare the community for upcoming fire seasons.

Good evening all, tomorrow 29/04/2026 there will be a controlled burn in the
Kawarren/Barongarook area between Wares Rd, Robinsons Rd and Parkes Lodge Rd involving an area of approximately 10 hectares, this burn has been well planned and will have crews on the ground from 09:30 until it is safe to leave, please be aware of CFA vehicles in the area.

The Carlisle River Community Day is happening on Saturday 28 March at Carlisle River Primary School, and it’s set to be a lovely day for local families to come together after a difficult few weeks.

There’ll be a BBQ lunch, free kids’ activities, entertainment, support services and a chance to say thank you to the Carlisle River Fire Brigade and our emergency services for everything they’ve done for the community. A really special local event, full of heart.

Events like this remind us how strong communities across Western Victoria really are - neighbours supporting neighbours and volunteers stepping up when it matters most. 💛
