1JMU personnel recently supported a DFAT humanitarian response to prepare and coordinate the movement of Australian Aid in support of Nepal.

This response highlights the vital contribution Defence makes in supporting whole-of-government operations and Australia's commitment to assisting our regional and international partners.

Well done to all personnel involved for demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and dedication in support of this important mission. 👏

Nestled amongst the gumtrees in central Victoria is the team from Joint Proof Experimental Unit – Graytown 🌳

A crack team of engineers, armourers, EO specialists, gunners and analysts – they love nothing more than conducting test and experimentation activities on a vast array of munitions. 💣🧨💥

One of the many legends at Graytown is the Master Gunner, Scott Pennycook who was recently promoted to Warrant Officer Class One. Congratulations to Scott and his family on this significant career milestone! 🎊👏

JLC congratulates former JLC member Mr Tim Glover, who was recently recognised in the 2026 Australian Federal Police Commissioner's Honours List! 🎉

Tim was recognised for “assisting in an incident in which an adult and a three-year-old child were at serious risk of drowning". Tim, along with other members of the public and police, took swift action to perform a rescue at Lake Ginninderra in April 2024.

Extraordinary effort Tim!👏

36 and a half years. One remarkable career!✨💫

Today we farewell Captain Lorinda Carlin CSC CSM RAN as she completes her final day of service in the Royal Australian Navy. An outstanding logistician, leader, mentor, and mate - Lori will be long remembered for the passion, purpose, and pride she brought to JLC, Navy and Defence more broadly. 🙌

More operators. More capability. Greater readiness.💥

JLC recognises the recent graduation of 14 Improvised Explosive Device Disposal (IEDD) operators, marking a significant step forward in strengthening Defence's ability to respond to explosive threats.

By integrating JLC’s Joint Explosive Ordnance Support (JEOS) personnel into training delivery, Defence were able to increase course throughput and enhance numbers of qualified operators. 💣

Well done to all involved in delivering this critical capability outcome! 👏

On 1 July, Joint Logistics Unit–East (JLU-E) proudly celebrated its 111th birthday, marking more than a century of continuous support to Defence from the Moorebank precinct. While its name has changed over time, its reputation for delivering reliable, high-quality logistics support has never wavered. As a cornerstone of the Defence Logistics Network, JLU-E continues to deliver all day, every day! 🙌

Happy belated birthday JLU-E, and our thanks to all who contributed to the 111 years of service! 👏🎂

Celebrating 40 years of outstanding service, our former Chief of Joint Capabilities, LTGEN Susan Coyle recently presented Air Commodore Wade Evans with his Federation Star. 🎖️

Wade has spent much of his career as an explosive ordnance specialist, including many years leading and supporting Explosives Ordnance Branch within JLC. 🧨💣💥

Our thanks for your explosively remarkable service Wade and all the best for your retirement! 🎉🥳
