National Reconciliation Week 2026 has been a meaningful and engaging week across PM&C, with strong participation from staff and a shared commitment to being All In for reconciliation.
Across the week, colleagues came together to deepen understanding, reflect on our shared history, and celebrate the cultures, strength and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
From the Walk on Country and cultural training sessions, to the NGA tour, panel discussion on the Priority Reforms Roadmap, and the spirit of connection seen at the Reconciliation bake-off that raised more than $500 for BlaQ Aboriginal Corporation, each event provided valuable opportunities to learn and engage.
Floral Friday on Torres Strait Islander Flag Day (29 May) was a standout moment, with staff across the department visibly showing their support. We closed the week by honouring Mabo Day, reflecting on the legacy of Eddie Koiki Mabo and its enduring significance for land rights and reconciliation.
Thank you to everyone who participated, contributed and supported the week. These moments matter, but it is what we do next that counts. Let us carry this momentum forward and continue to embed reconciliation in how we work, lead and serve every day.
