Pauline Hanson absolutely bemoans any kind of emissions reduction. I DON'T wonder why, Gina.

Here she goes on about emissions reductions policies by Abbott, Turnbull and Morrison.

And then she alleges Angus Taylor built kilometres of transmission wires, "that went nowhere", which even by the definition of transmission is not possible.

The day after CPAC (11 Oct 2026) Pauline Hanson went on Sky News and told us who her preferred prime minister was. I could say it was a surprising choice. Surprising she didn't realise he hasn't a hope in Hades.

Careful. Shhh! Can he hear us? Okay, let's have a difficult discussion about Angus Taylor the way the Liberal Party should be having this discussion.

Given that Morrison lost 19 house seats and Dutton another 17, and there's only 27 Liberals left in the house, they can't risk another election result like their last two. I reckon Taylor's on track to losing another 15, which would leave only 12 Liberals in the lower house...

Given the rise of One Nation, there's even more chance for the Liberals to lose seats nex election.

I actually feel for the Liberal stalwarts who've for years been organising, door-knocking, leafleting, getting out to the booths to hand out, doing all the rubbish jobs at branch meetings etc, etc, etc. I've done similar myself.

Australia itself deserves an opposition not cowering in disgust at itself. It's good for democracy.

So it's clear Angus has got to go. And the sooner the better to let the new guy - who would have to be Andrew Hastie - bed in.

Free advice to the Liberal Party form a concerned citizen.

My experience of trusts in places where I've been office manager (and thus paymaster) are that they are ALWAYS used to reduce tax otherwise payable.

I was an accountant, but I know accountancy is boring. While I have to talk a bit about the accountancy, I'll keep the tech stuff out.

First time I saw a trust it ALSO had the aim of reducing workers' compensation premiums in the early 1990s. THIS is now no longer allowed.

I was working for a factory where there was glass-cutting, and frequent use of aluminium and MDF cutting equipment. It was dangerous stuff, and the Workers' Comp premium reflected that.

But I worked in the office, along with half a dozen others as well as the sales team. We were employed not by the Pty Ltd company that operated the business; we were employed by a trust which was set up as a mangement service provider.

This company basically said "we will administer your company and charge a fee for it, and your business doesn't have to worry about things like that".

Of course the trustees were also directors of the associated Pty Ltd company.

So the trust got Workers' Comp insurance (it's a legal requirement) but for office workers only, which was heaps cheaper than the factory premiums. This saved a lot.

The trust was also used to employ the wives and sons of the directors. They would be paid a wage such that the total tax payable (not the marginal rate) was 30%. As office manager I'd only see these people once in a blue moon, but they were on the books as employees.

And the kicker is, this management company could charge a management fee, and that fee was totally arbitrary.

If the management company was independent and charging like this, you'd be crazy to not get quotes from other management companies. But of the course the point of this is so money can be take out of the Pty Ltd company into the trust.

And back then, trusts were only taxed at 15%! That's less than any personal tax or company tax rate, so there's a massive advantage.

And because it's a "DISCRETIONARY" trust, it can pay money to anyone for anything.

I was going to write about other places I've worked where trusts were employed, but I reckon you've got the idea now.

The indignation at changing tax rates on trusts is coming from the 5% of Australians who have trusts. Surely.

It's completely unfair and I salute Albo for finally doing something about an obvious tax doge that no-one wants to admit IS a tax dodge.

I'm getting SOOO sick of the "you're anonymous and hiding behind a page name" crap. I've got my name up as prominently as I can in the page's ABOUT information, but those who exhort us to "do your own research" just don't do their own.

The Hansonites can often be heard talking about "productivity". But never their own.

This was a boring interview but I've gotten to the point in the edit.

Josh Frydenberg on went on 7.30 yesterday (13 Oct 2026) and Sarah Ferguson pressed him on his Prime Ministerial aspirations.

He also discusses the problems of a Liberal Party whose primary vote has halved since Morrison. He goes on a fair bit, so I've cut chunks out and sped things up. I also keep score with Questions and Answers to make it a challenge.

They say groups are an "echo chamber" and I only get to see a skewed sample of opinions. That's the way it should be!! No point being in a group where you constantly get abused...

I know it doesn't work this way on a page, it's open slather for comments, not necessarily human.

But along with some very dedicated Facebook friends, I moderate the group BADGE (which just cracked 30k members). A few months back we turned on participation approval for ALL. That gave us a lot more work , but we do see the initial comment (or post) from everyone attempting to join.

That's no echo chamber.

Moderation isn't something many people do, but remember the George Formby song "When I'm cleaning windows"?

These guys expect to get into a group with this sort of thing. It's hilarious!

PS: plenty more where this came from if you like reading this stuff!
