The Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco was delighted to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Morocco and Australia at a Gala Dinner held in Perth on 3 September 2026.

The evening brought together distinguished guests, partners and friends of Morocco to commemorate five decades of friendship, dialogue and growing cooperation between our two countries.

The Embassy extends its sincere appreciation to Fortescue, the Arab Chamber of Commerce, the Moroccan Association of Perth and Morocco’s Honorary Consul for their invaluable support and contributions to the success of this special celebration.

A memorable occasion that highlighted the strength of Morocco–Australia relations and reaffirmed our shared commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties, particularly with Western Australia.

🇲🇦🤝🇴🇲 H.E. Mrs. Wassane Zailachi was pleased to receive Mr Saleh Al Rawahi, the newly appointed Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Canberra.

The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on the longstanding fraternal relations between Morocco and Oman and to reaffirm the shared commitment to further strengthening cooperation and coordination between the two Embassies.

I was honoured to join the celebration of 50 years of diplomatic relations between Australia and the Kingdom of Morocco last night.
Terrific to meet so many members of the vibrant WA Moroccan community, and to welcome the Ambassador, HE Wassane Zailachi, and Chair of the Arab-Australia CCI, Mohammed Hage OAM to Perth.

Today, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Canberra was pleased to host H.E. Ambassador Bankole Adeoye, African Union Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security, accompanied by Dr Patience Chiradza, Mr Idriss Mounir Lallali, Dr Isabela Warioba and Mr Babatunde Taiwo, for an engaging exchange with the African Group of Ambassadors.

Discussions focused on Africa’s peace and security priorities, governance, multilateral cooperation and the continent’s growing engagement with Australia.

A valuable opportunity to exchange views on shared priorities and Africa’s role on the international stage.
