A huge thank you to everyone who came along to our recent hilarious comedy night! 🥳

The atmosphere was electric and our comedians delivered punchlines that had everyone in stitches, proving once again that humour truly brings people together.

Special shoutouts to Comedy for a Cause for putting this together, our legendary comedians Dave Williams, Mat Wakefield, Joe Comino and Caitlin Maggs and of course to our venue hosts Rose Cottage Canberra for your amazing hospitality.

Here is a small glimpse into our Father & Son Retreat weekend!

Reflecting on an unforgettable weekend.

This past weekend, we wrapped up an incredible Father & Son Retreat, and the feedback we’ve received from the dads and lads has been nothing short of inspiring. We couldn’t be prouder of the connections built, the laughter shared, and the memories made.

The retreat struck a balance between structured and unstructured time. We explored topics close to the heart: memories of when dads first learned their sons were on the way, shared dreams, deep listening, and looking to the future. These moments provided space for meaningful conversations and reflections that strengthened bonds in ways only time together can.

But it wasn’t all sitting and talking! The dads and lads explored the camp site, swam in the river, and rolled up their sleeves for hands-on activities like winching logs and watching a chainsaw demonstration. These moments of teamwork and shared accomplishment added a sense of fun, excitement, and practical learning to the weekend.

We also had the joy of making paracord bracelets together. This was a simple but powerful reminder of the promises made during the retreat. Many dads and sons committed to wearing their bracelets for at least a week as a tangible connection to the shared experience. (I might just keep mine on a little longer!)

The retreat wasn’t just about bonding but rediscovery. We learned more about each other’s hopes and dreams, fears and strengths. It offered us all a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, focusing on what truly matters: our relationship with one another.

This retreat would not have been possible without the incredible team effort behind the scenes. A huge thank you to my co-facilitator Michael Aichholzer, the one and only Silver Mongo whose experience, wisdom and energy brought the sessions to life, and to the volunteers who handled the logistics, meals, and everything in between, Kylie, Rick and Rory. Your efforts made the weekend seamless and allowed the dads and sons to focus entirely on each other.

To all the dads and lads who joined us: thank you for making this experience so meaningful. Your courage, openness, and commitment to each other are what make these retreats truly magical.

And to those who are considering taking this journey: watch this space. The next retreat is just around the corner, and we’d love for you to be part of it.
