Good morning Canberra, we're seeking information after a house was extensively damaged by fire in Richardson yesterday morning.

About 3am yesterday ACT Fire & Rescue and police were called to a house fire on Clift Crescent, Richardson.

The home was significantly damaged before the fire could be extinguished. Thankfully, no one was injured.

The fire has been deemed suspicious, and a forensic examination of the site has been conducted.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed or has dashcam footage of the Clift Crescent area (including Kiddle Street) between 2.20am and 3.30am yesterday to come forward.

Canberra, we're seeking witnesses after a resident disturbed people in their home and was threatened with knives.

About 2am yesterday morning at a home in McGill Street in Evatt, a resident disturbed multiple people who were inside.

The resident gave chase as they fled and once outside the resident was confronted by three people, with two allegedly threatening them with knives.

The offenders were last seen running towards the Ginninderra Creek green belt between McGill Street (towards Read Place) soon after.

The offenders were all wearing dark hooded jumpers, dark or grey pants and all were wearing black facial coverings.

ACT Policing is reminding the community to ensure their homes and vehicles are secure at all times. Offenders continue to try and gain entry to residences to steal vehicle keys and other valuables.

Anyone who has information about this incident or dashcam footage of the Evatt area before 2am yesterday morning should provide their contact details to Crime Stoppers - quoting 8401460.

A motorcycle has been seized from a teen rider in Melba on Saturday afternoon.

About 4.30pm on Saturday police responded to reports of motorcycles being ridden in multiple suburbs in the Belconnen district.

Officers located two motorbikes and riders at the rear of the Melba shops, with one rider fleeing the scene and the other unable to restart his trailbike.

Police spoke to the rider and identified him as a 16-year-old boy. The motorcycle was seized as it was unroadworthy, unregisterable and the rider did not hold a licence. Investigations are continuing and charges may be laid.

A Richardson man has been charged with multiple offences following search warrant activity at his home yesterday.

Last week police received information about possible fi****ms and drug offences being committed at a residence in Richardson.

A search warrant was granted and yesterday afternoon Detectives from the Tuggeranong Major Crime Squad attended the residence.

Soon after, a 43-year-old man returned to the residence and attempted to enter a neighbour's home, causing damage in the process. He was arrested at the scene.

During the search warrant, police located:
• Eight small cannabis plants
• Three large cannabis plants
• Dried cannabis
• Heat lamps and hydroponic equipment
• Approximately three grams of a substance believed to be methamphetamine
• Two air-guns and a gel-blaster
• Nine vials of anabolic steroids

The man was subsequently charged with unauthorised possession of fi****ms, cultivate a cannabis plant for sale, possess equipment for cultivating a controlled plant, possess drug of dependence, possess anabolic steroid, attempt burglary and property damage. He is expected to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court tomorrow.

A 36-year-old Wamboin woman has been charged with possessing child abuse material after imagery was located at a photo printing business.

On Wednesday afternoon a woman allegedly attempted to print imagery at a Belconnen photo printing service.

Due to a malfunction of the machinery the woman was refunded her payment and left the store. Soon after, staff at the store allegedly identified multiple child exploitation images that had failed to print.

Police were contacted and after conducting enquiries, a vehicle was stopped in Holt yesterday afternoon. A 36-year woman from Wamboin was subsequently arrested and charged with one count of aggravated possession of child exploitation material. She is expected to face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Saturday, 30 May 2026).

Investigations into this matter are continuing.

Anyone with information regarding the accessing or creation of child abuse material is urged to contact Crime Stoppers via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Information can be provided anonymously.

ACT Policing is seeking information after detectives determined the death of 46-year-old woman Kylee McHugh in a unit fire in Belconnen on 18 May to be a homicide.

A 20-year-old Spence man has been charged after an alleged shooting incident in Belconnen earlier this week.

Police will allege that about 9:40pm on Monday, a Ford Focus was involved in an interaction with a Holden Cruze on Ginninderra Drive. During the incident, the Cruze was allegedly rammed multiple times and a firearm discharged at the vehicle.

Following investigations, police stopped a vehicle in Majura early this morning, where the man was a passenger. Further enquiries led officers to a Ford Focus in Ngunnawal believed to be involved in the incident. The vehicle was seized, and the man was arrested.

He has been charged with discharging a firearm at a building or conveyance and dangerous driving, and is expected to face the ACT Magistrates Court today.

Hugo has not been seen or heard from since 7:30pm on Friday 15 May 2026 and was last seen in Watson. He is described as Caucasian/Asian in appearance with a tanned complexion and brown hair.

ACT Policing has located human remains belonging to missing 42-year-old man Warren Gamble.

Warren was last seen in December 2025 and was reported missing to police in January 2026.

On 13 February, officers located human remains in a paddock in Holt.

Following DNA analysis, the remains have been confirmed as belonging to missing the 42-year-old man.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and a report will be prepared for the ACT Coroner who will determine the cause of death.

ACT Policing is seeking the public’s assistance to locate missing 42-year-old man Warren Gamble.
