Campania District School is a unique country school situated in the heart of the Coal River Valley. Our LiL program provides opportunities to connect with our school and community prior to commencing kinder. Sessions are run to cater for the needs and interests of babies, toddlers, infants and their families. In 2020 we esta
blished an OSHC/family day care program partnering with Adventure Patch. At Campania, our aim is to maintain these supportive relationships through to the end of formal education, which, as an extension school, can be until the end of Year 12. Research shows that a strong and supportive relationship between home and school is critical to each student achieving the best possible academic, social and emotional growth. At Campania students are at the centre of everything we do and our focus is on developing the whole person, to achieve this parent engagement is essential. We believe and live the philosophy that “It takes a village to raise a child”. As a small school, we take pride in our ability to know our students and families well. These strong and positive relationships are vital to the provision of a differentiated curriculum and our capacity to follow up on any issues that may arise. Our niche is that small class sizes offers greater capacity to personalise learning and offer flexible learning provisions. Our students from prep to Grade 6 have classes in English, Maths, Science, HASS, LOTE (Grade 3-6) and Health and Physical Education. They also have specialist classes in Drama, Visual Arts and Music (including our kinder students). In addition to the core learning areas of English, HASS, Literacy, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), Health and Physical Education, our curriculum includes Design, Automotive, Kitchen Garden and Construction, Foods, LOTE (Chinese and Spanish), Drama and Production, Visual Art, Music, Dance, Digital Technologies, Health and Recreation, Outdoor Education, Wellbeing, Project Based Learning and Child Studies. At Campania District School, we offer options for students through to the end of Year 12. At present we have students studying TASC courses in Mathematics, Issues in Society, Health and Wellbeing, Food and Cooking and Physical Education. We are fortunate at Campania District School to have a strong and supportive School Association. Our Association plays an important role in shaping the direction of our school through the creation and ratification of school policy across a range of issues. As an association we are always looking for new members so if you are able to give up an hour or so a couple of evenings a term we would love to hear from you.
