Homelife is a community organisation in Caboolture proudly supporting people with disabilities Homelife Association Inc. was established in 1992.

It supports adults with disability to live in housing of their choosing and to achieve the ordinary and extraordinary goals that make up a “good life”. Support can be provided in the following ways: personal care, household management, budgeting and shopping, transport and travelling, accessing education and employment, exploring and participating in leisure options, civic involvement and developi

ng and maintaining friendships. Each adult is assisted by their own key team member and a talented team of people. Lifestyle support plans are reviewed regularly to ensure direction is person-centred and community connected. Homelife is a proud registered organisation with the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

🌸🌿 🎶✨ What a wonderful, relaxing Wednesday!

Our Garden Group officially wrapped up their gorgeous hammered leaf and flower cotton bags, and the vibe in the room was pure bliss. Since delicate petals take much lighter taps than leaves, it was a much quieter, gentler session than last week’s noisy hammering! 🔨🌸 🛍️🌺

🌺🎶 We worked alongside a fantastic soundtrack today thanks to Joseph, who kept everyone relaxed and grooving with his beautiful music selections playing in the background! 🎧✨

🌿 We had a great discussion exploring the most popular shrubs we spot around our local neighbourhood, diving into our favorite choices for hedging, and talking about how our home gardens provide vital habitat and benefits for local wildlife. 🐝🐦

🌿🎨🔨📖 Another exciting, hands-on week is right around the corner!

🔨🌸 Garden Group (Wednesday): We are putting the final touches on our beautiful hammered leaf and flower cotton bags! Plus, we’ll be exploring the world of shrubs, learning about different varieties and finding out which ones make the best garden hedges. 🌿🛍️

📖✨ Arts & Crafts Group (Thursday): We’re launching into a brand-new, super creative project: Junk Journals! Everyone will get to repurpose, layer, and bind unique papers, trinkets, and textures to build their very own personalized keepsake books. ✂️🎨

It’s going to be a fantastic week of finishing touches and new artistic adventures. We can’t wait to see everyone there! 💜💚

🎮✨ When support times overlap for Hudson and Nixon, the boys always jump at the chance to team up for an adventure. Whether it’s burning off energy at Bounce/Elev8, kicking a ball around the footy fields, or hitting the park, they love spending time together. 💜💚

For this outing, Iplay was the top choice! Team Member Lidia stepped in to support Hudson for the very first time, working alongside Kristy-Lee supporting Nixon. From high-tech VR rides and racing games to scoring big on tickets and picking out prizes at the end, the afternoon was an absolute hit. 👏🏼

Judging by those huge smiles, it was a total win all around! 🎟️🏆😃

What a special, milestone Thursday for our Arts & Crafts Group! After weeks of detailed and dedicated work, our colorful hot air balloons are officially complete! 🥰🎈

🧺 Everyone put their final creative spin on their masterpieces! Some participants added incredible extra details like mini ladders, hand-sewn miniature sandbags, and sculpted polymer clay figurines to ride inside the baskets. 🧗‍♂️⏳

🧱 Our amazing facilitator, Paivi, guided everyone through their clay creations, providing home-baking instructions for those wanting to cure their figurines at home or offering to bake them for next week’s final assembly! 🧑‍🍳✨

🏆 After weeks of sticky paper mache, painting layers, and basket weaving, everyone was so thrilled to see their hard work pay off in such a spectacular way!

🎉 Happy Birthday, Penny! We enjoyed an intimate, cozy session inside and had the absolute pleasure of celebrating Penny’s birthday together with songs, smiles, and plenty of birthday warmth! 🎂🥳🎈

A massive congratulations to all of our participants for their patience and creativity throughout this multi-week project!

Our Garden Group had a wonderfully loud, creative, and active Wednesday session! The photos say it all, there was plenty of enthusiasm (and hammering energy!) in the air today! 📸💥
Today, everyone focused on hammering leaves to capture their natural shapes and green prints. Next week, we’ll finish them off by adding vibrant flowers! 🌿🛍️ Everyone was so thrilled with how their leaf prints turned out that several participants are planning to bring in special blooms straight from their own home gardens next week! 🏡🌺

🧠 We tested our green-thumb trivia with a fun plant quiz challenge: naming plants that have girls’ names! The group put their thinking caps on and successfully came up with a list of 10! 📝
📚 With so much action, hammering, and quizzing, the morning flew by! We’ll dive into our spring-flowering shrubs topic next week when we have a little more time. 🌼

It was a fantastic, high-energy session full of teamwork, laughter, and great ideas. We can’t wait to see all the colorful garden flowers brought in next Wednesday! 🏆💛

👋 Meet Mary, Our Newest Homelife Team Member!

We are so excited to welcome Mary to the Homelife team! Although she is a fresh face and a proud “newbie,” she has already brought wonderful energy to our workplace.
When asked what she enjoys most about her work, Mary shared that she loves “helping others and making every day a good day.”

Outside of work, Mary keeps wonderfully busy, she enjoys reading, gardening, hiking, fishing, traveling, movies, yoga, cooking, exploring markets, and heading to the beach, as she truly loves being outdoors when the weather is good!

For anyone thinking about working with her, Mary wants you to know that she enjoys “bringing a warm positive energy to my day. A good laugh and an upbeat attitude can brighten anyone’s work day and bring people together,” adding that her family are her whole world and biggest inspiration outside of work.💜💚

We’re heading into another exciting week full of nature, creativity, and hands-on fun!

🔨🌸 Garden Group (Wednesday): We’re diving into the world of spring-flowering shrubs! Plus, we’re kicking off a super unique, creative activity, flower and leaf hammering on cotton bags! Every participant will get to design and print their own tote to take home. 🌿🛍️

🎈🎨 Arts & Crafts Group (Thursday): We are putting the final, gorgeous touches on our paper mache hot air balloons! But that’s not all... we’ll also be sculpting tiny mini figurines out of polymer clay so they can take flight inside the balloon baskets! 🤭🧺✨

It’s going to be a week filled with incredible artistic flair and garden magic. We can’t wait to see all the finished creations! 🏆💛

It’s been wonderful watching Jenita get comfortable with our Garden Group over the last few weeks,✨

She loves exploring and getting to know everyone around her, and this week was extra special as she and Lil went hand-in-hand for a walk.💖

Seeing that joy and trust grow naturally reminds us why creating inclusive, welcoming spaces is so important.🩵

Belonging isn’t something that happens overnight, it’s built on comfort, trust, and shared experience. Here’s to many more shared steps! 💜💚

🎈🌈 🎨✨
Our Arts & Crafts Group had such a relaxed and creative Thursday as we brought our paper mache hot air balloons to life with beautiful layers of color! 🥰

🖌️ Everyone worked through the painting process step-by-step—applying a crisp white base coat first, letting it dry, and then carefully adding vibrant colors!

🎨 The atmosphere in the room was so relaxed and cozy. Everyone had plenty of time to chat, plan their color schemes, and design gorgeous ribbon patterns for their handmade baskets. 🧺✨

🧺A huge shout-out to Luiggi, who keeps working so hard to master his grazing platter presentation, just check out that incredible salami rose and mandarin arrangement! 🌹🍊

✨ From bright pinks to sunny yellows, these are officially going to be the most colorful hot air balloons ever! 🩷🧡💛💚

💛 Our thoughtful facilitator Paivi, was hard at work prepping balloons for two participants who couldn’t make it today, so they can easily catch up and join in the fun next week!

We will be putting the final finishing touches on these beauties next week before taking off into our next exciting project! 🏆✨
