This morning we joined the community for the City of Busselton - Local Government's annual Reconciliation Walk. Led by local Elder Gloria Hill the walk began at the Busselton foreshore and concluded at Saltwater.

Speakers reflected on this year’s National Reconciliation Week theme 'All In' and discussed the importance of walking together in the spirit of connection, respect and shared understanding. After formalities we enjoyed morning tea and explored Saltwater Gallery’s inaugural exhibition, 'Two Girls from Amoonguna'.

The event provided a wonderful opportunity to connect, to think about where we have been on our reconciliation journey, where we are now and to look ahead to where we can be by working together.

Morning tea for a great cause!

It was awesome to see so many of our team make time in their busy day to be part of Australia's Biggest Morning Tea. Our CEO, David Hughes-Owen spoke about the importance of early detection and screening checks, we were treated to a delicious spread of food and collectively we raised close to $250 to support the vital work of Cancer Council Australia 🙌

In the next installment of our Caring for Water Country series Koomal Dreaming's Josh Whiteland shares the connection of water during the season of Djeran.

"It is Djeran. Overcast days and nights cooling less light, first heavy rains, time to fire manage country burning bush land areas. Start to move and camp back on coastal plains inland along lakes and rivers. Collect vegetables, catch crab & fish in estuaries and bays salmon still abundant. Time for celebrations."
