Bin Latches Available โ€“ Help Keep Goyder Clean This Winter ๐Ÿƒ

With wild winter weather upon us, now is a great time to check that your bins aren't overfilled and that the lids can close properly.

When bins are too full or lids are left open, strong winds can blow litter into our streets, parks, reserves and waterways. Open bins can also attract birds and pests, which may pull rubbish out and scatter it throughout the community.

By ensuring your bin is not overfilled and the lid closes completely, you can help:
โœ… Prevent litter in our streets, parks and reserves
โœ… Reduce attraction for birds, rodents and other pests
โœ… Protect local waterways and wildlife
โœ… Ensure waste is collected safely and efficiently
โœ… Keep our community clean and tidy

Need extra protection during windy weather?
Bin latches are a simple and effective way to keep your bin lid securely closed. They help prevent litter from escaping when lids blow open in the wind, or bins are knocked over on blustery days. Best of all, the latch automatically releases when the collection truck empties the bin.

Bin latches are available for purchase from the Burra and Eudunda Council Offices at the discounted price of $7.00 each.

Interested in earning an income while supporting people in your local community?

Head along to the Information Session to learn how Mableโ€™s flexible, self-managed care model can benefit both support workers and local residents needing assistance to remain living independently at home.

Whether youโ€™re looking for flexible work opportunities or want to learn about accessing support services, this session will provide practical information and the chance to ask questions.

๐Ÿ“… Wednesday 17 June
๐Ÿ•‘ 10:00am โ€“ 11:00am
๐Ÿ“ St Just Cafe, 5 Commercial Street, Burra

Mable connects local people with support services such as cleaning, gardening, transport, meal preparation, companionship and personal care. Workers can choose when they work, the services they provide and who they support.

This is about building stronger local connections and helping people access the support they need close to home.

Everyone is welcome.

๐Ÿงถ WOOL DONATIONS NEEDED ๐Ÿงถ

The Eudunda Fibre Craft group are a busy lot. They meet twice a week to knit, spin, crochet, felt, weave and more. They are so prolific that there is no wool left in the Eudunda Op Shop. Yarn is becoming a rare commodity in that end of the region!

Do you have wool you could donate to keep them in action? You can drop it off to the council office in Burra or Eudunda and weโ€™ll make sure it reaches them.

โœจ Photos of some of their beautiful craft: crocheted squares by the group and some of Taylor Ingham amigurumi toys.
