Did you know more than half of what’s in our general waste bin could be diverted?

Below are some tips to turn your food scraps into something useful!

🍃 Less waste to landfill
Food waste in your general waste (red) bin creates harmful methane gas when it ends up in landfill. Using your FOGO bin helps reduce these emissions.

🌿 Scraps become compost
All food waste – leftovers, peels, meat, dairy – goes into your green FOGO bin. It’s turned into nutrient-rich compost that helps grow new food.

🔄 Make your bin work better
When food waste goes into landfill, it’s wasted – and your red bin fills up faster than it needs to. Using your FOGO bin keeps waste down and bin space up.

👉 Worried about smell or mess?
Keep a lid on your caddy and empty it often. Council-provided kitchen caddies are dishwasher safe – no need for special liners.

👉 Make the switch today:
Scrape your food scraps into your kitchen caddy, then empty it into your green FOGO bin.
Food and garden organics only – no plastic or non-organic materials.
