When we talk about feelings, boundaries, body autonomy and asking for help, we give children the confidence to know:

My feelings matter.
I can ask for help.
I deserve to feel safe.
This Child Protection Week, let’s keep the conversations going, and turn what we say into what we do.
Together, we can help create safer spaces for every child.

Listening without judgment and responding with care can make a meaningful difference.

For this week’s RESPECT initiative we were set up at Bundaberg Christian College basketball courts with Belle and Bryce from IMPACT Community Services 🏀
It was great to meet students, teachers, parents and friends to talk about how we treat others with kindness and respect. And have them sign the commitment ✍️

Kristi McVee is holding some great discussions about keeping kids safe.
This one for parents of Teens / Tweens is being held on 22nd September from 7:30-8:30 AEST and will cover topics like:
👉 what grooming can actually look like
👉 consent basics and what consent looks like in their every day world
👉 building trust - so they can come to you when something is unsafe
👉 online dangers that our kids are facing today
👉 what they need to know before parties and sleepovers
👉 how we can help prepare our young people as they build independence and grow

Have you seen the local activities happening for Child Protection Queensland Child Protection Week in September. It all kicks off in 2 weeks' time. Save the date for Rainbow Day Sept 11, bring the kids and have a great day out :)

The Bundaberg Child Protection Week Action Group is a passionate and dedicated collective committed to promoting the safety, wellbeing and protection of children and young people within our community.

At the heart of our group are our valued volunteers, whose time, commitment and passion are integral to everything we do. Our Action Group is also proudly made up of representatives from a range of government and non-government agencies and organisations, all bringing their own knowledge, experience and dedication to this important work.

Together, we plan and support events, activities and initiatives that raise awareness and encourage our community to play a role in protecting children and young people.

Our achievements are built on collaboration, shared ideas and collective effort. While individual contributions are valued and appreciated, the work and initiatives of the Bundaberg Child Protection Week Action Group — including our Annual Child Protection Week Dinner, Safer Communities Workshop, Rainbow Day, Colouring In Comp & CP Week Award, — are proudly the result of the collective efforts of our many dedicated volunteers, members and supporting organisations.

We are stronger together, and it is through this shared commitment that we can continue to make a meaningful difference for children and young people in our community.

RIDE FOR KIDS 2026 - it's time to rev it up!

We’re so excited to have MACE - Wide Bay (Motorcyclists Advocating Child Empowerment) launching us into Sexual Violence Awareness Month in October with a fantastic community event — and we are reaching out to see if you want to join us.

Ride for Kids is raising funds in support of Phoenix House, bringing riders and the wider community together for a morning of bikes, connection and a great cause. 💜

Meet from 8:30am | Stands up 10:30am
Registration is taken on the day and is $20 per vehicle. Bring bikes, cars and trucks. Everyone is welcome.
Rotary Bundaberg Sunrise will be cooking us all brekky before we hit the road.

We’re incredibly grateful to MACE and Rotary for choosing to support Phoenix House and helping us start SVAM with a whole lot of community spirit!
