REMINDER: Temporary facility closure at 2pm today.

📣 Shire of Broome facilities to temporarily close

All Shire facilities will close early on Thursday 9 July to allow staff to take part in organisational development activities.

Most facilities will close from 2pm, with the Waste Management Facility closing earlier at 1pm.

Normal operations will resume on Friday, 10 July.

Affected facilities include the Shire Administration Office, Waste Management Facility, Broome Recreation and Aquatic Centre , Broome Public Library and the Broome Civic Centre

⚠️ Advanced notice - Upcoming BRAC Pool Closure ⚠️

The Broome Recreation and Aquatic Centre swimming pool and aquatic area will be temporarily closed for scheduled maintenance to the sanitation and filtration system.

📅 Closed from: Monday, 18 May 2026
📅 Reopening: Wednesday, 3 June 2026

This essential work helps ensure we continue to provide a clean and safe swimming environment for the Broome community.

What this means:

🔹Learn to Swim lessons will conclude early on Thursday, 14 May, with Term 2 adjusted to a four-week program
🔹All aquatic programs will pause during this period, including Adult Swim Group, Aqua Combo and Deep Water Aqua
🔹Aquatic group fitness programs will resume from Wednesday, 3 June

Planning to visit over the Easter long weekend? Here’s our opening hours:

• Good Friday (3 April): CLOSED
• Saturday (4 April): 9am – 5pm
• Easter Sunday (5 April): 9am – 5pm
• Easter Monday (6 April): 10am – 5pm
• Tuesday (7 April): Open as normal

🏊‍♀️ BRAC Lane Availability Update – March 2026

Early morning swimmers, please take note 👇

Due to Broome Carnival and school swim training sessions, there will be limited lane availability at BRAC on select weekday mornings from 10 March to 26 March, between 5.45am – 7.30am.
Lane availability during this period:

• Mondays: 4 lanes available
• Tuesdays: 2 lanes available
• Wednesdays: 4 lanes available
• Thursdays: 4 lanes available
• Fridays: 4 lanes available

We recommend allowing a little extra time for your swim or considering alternative days where possible — especially on Tuesdays when availability is reduced.
