See a car that doesn’t look right? 👀

You can now use Victoria Police’s new stolen vehicle check tool to see if a suspicious vehicle has been reported stolen.

Enter the registration, make or model.

If it’s listed as stolen, you can report its location to us through the Police Assistance Line or Crime Stoppers.

Happy birthday, Logiebear!
Vehicle Crime Squad detectives are hoping to unite a birthday card and a sum of cash with the birthday boy after it was retrieved from an allegedly stolen vehicle last month.
Officers identified several stolen vehicles while attending an Altona North storage facility on 28 August.
Items contained within one of the cars have since been returned to their rightful owner, however the origin of the birthday card, and the identity of its intended recipient remain a mystery.
A 43-year-old Altona North man has since been arrested in relation to the theft of motor vehicle from a Tullamarine address.
Anyone wishing to claim the card will need to identify who it is from, the recipient, and the sum of cash, and contact the Vehicle Crime Squad on 9906 0013.

A man has been arrested after allegedly reaching speeds of 160km/h in a stolen Toyota Hilux this morning.

With assistance from the Air Wing, officers tracked the vehicle from the eastern suburbs through the city and into Melbourne’s north-west.

Stop sticks were successfully deployed near Broadmeadows Police Station, deflating the vehicle’s tyres before it came to rest. Air Wing then observed the driver jumping fences on Anselm Grove where he attempted to hide in a rear yard.

The 37-year-old Wallan man surrendered at the sound of the approaching police dog and he was arrested without incident.

Operation Trinity continues to target burglars and car thieves across Melbourne every night.

Homicide Squad detectives have charged a man with murder as part of their investigation into a shooting in Wildwood earlier this month.

A 56-year-old Wildwood man was initially charged with intentionally cause serious injury.

He is currently remanded in custody to face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 27 November.

The charge follows an incident on 19 August where a 37-year-old Meadow Heights man was fatally shot following an alleged dispute with the occupants at a property on Wildwood Road.

His remains were subsequently located on 26 August in Clarkefield.

Police will allege the parties involved were known to each other.

Car keys, phones, wallets and headphones are easy targets when left unattended in the gym and in change rooms.

But there are steps you can take to protect your property while you work on your PB:

🏋️ use lockers provided where possible
🏋️ access passes are not for sharing, even if they have ‘forgotten’ theirs

If you witness suspicious behaviour, alert a staff member immediately.
