17 April 2025: In the afternoon, His Majesty graciously received Professor Melinda Edwards, the esteemed newly appointed Honorary Consul of Bhutan in Queensland, Australia, for an Audience.

During this afternoon's engagement, His Majesty the King provided a personal briefing, outlining his visionary aspirations for the Gelephu Mindfulness City and its prospective role as a dynamic and ethically grounded commercial centre for South Asia.

His Majesty extended his sincere congratulations to Professor Edwards on her appointment. Their discussion encompassed potential avenues for the further strengthening of Bhutan-Australia relations, encompassing the Gelephu Mindfulness City initiative, opportunities for enhanced tourism cooperation, and the fostering of deeper interpersonal connections between the two nations.

Two palaces and audiences with two incredibly gracious and inspiring Monarchs.

A sumptuous morning tea reunion with Her Royal Highness the Princess, planning new directions for the Bhutan National Legal Institute.

This afternoon, a personal briefing from His Majesty the King on his vision for the Gelephu Mindfulness City and its role as a vibrant and ethical new commercial hub for South Asia.

What an adventure this is turning out to be - thank you life!

The Vice Chancellor met with Professor Melinda Edwards who’s the Honorary Counsul for the Kingdom of Bhutan in Brisbane. The VC solicited the support of the Honorary Counsul to help establish linkages between RUB and top-notch Australian universities and institutions of higher learning. They also discussed international accreditation and mutual recognition among RUB and Australian universities, and also potential contributions of GMC to higher education in Bhutan.
