Mandarins call for crackdown on 'harmful' social media clips!!!!!

This really takes the cake.

Departmental heads are now complaining about parliamentary footage being played on social media.

The footage is played to expose poor government performance. It’s a critical part of the democratic process that flaws in government process is fully transparent and exposed to the public where possible.

These Department heads are paid almost a million dollars a year courtesy of the taxpayer.

The taxpayer has a right to see how their dollars are spent.

If the mandarins can’t stand the heat they should get out of the kitchen or even better improve their performance.

By all means threats and intimidation are not on, but I am not aware of that occurring. While comments can be coloured unfortunately that is politics. I cop plenty of vitriol all the time. Ideally comments could be more respectful but again you have to learn to take it in this game.

As someone who took the role of holding the bureaucrats to account seriously, this practice should not be stopped.

“Canberras departmental chiefs have demanded politicians be restricted from posting "potentially harmful" video clips of bureaucrats' parliamentary testimony on social media, but insist their request is not aimed at ducking public scrutiny.

The practice of public servants testifying before parliamentary committees has come under growing scrutiny after senior Defence official Celia Perkins appeared before a Senate probe last Friday, protesting what she claimed to be the selective posting of her colleagues' comments.

Arguing the posts were undermining her ability to assure "physical and psychological health and safety" of her staff and had raised “significant security concerns", Ms Perkins' request was quickly dismissed by senators who argued they were within their rights to distribute testimony as they saw fit.”

PEOPLE SHOULD BE ABLE TO CONTROL THEIR WEALTH NOT THE GOVERNMENT.

Last week there were calls for the Albanese Labor Government to encourage more people to work in the workforce longer.

PeopleFirst already has a policy that will do just that.

Unfortunately due to poor management of the economy by the Uniparty, many people are now retiring with a mortgage and are using their super to pay it out leaving them to rely on the pension.

To help people who want to work longer, we will allow people over 65 to earn up to $70,000 tax free from either active or investment income.

We will also lift the income test to $10,000 before the pension starts to reduce.

Increasing workforce participation will help reduce immigration and pension costs.

Don’t forget PeopleFirst will also allow people to earn up to $25,000 tax free at any age in superannuation.

“Labor is facing calls to embrace new incentives for Australians who wish to work more or longer to help fill skills shortages and boost productivity, amid warnings the abilities and willingness of older people wanting to continue employment were being ignored "at our peril".

As the Productivity Commission on Thursday urged governments to make "a lot of pro-productivity decisions" in the face of a sluggish economy, former NSW Nationals senator John Williams said Australians who worked overtime should receive a tax deduction and pensioners should be allowed to work as much as they liked with minimal penalty.

Australian Industry Group chief executive Innes Willox threw his weight behind the call, declaring it was time the country became more creative in helping pensioners and those nearing retirement remain in the workforce without being punished, while Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry chief executive Andrew McKellar agreed the government should encourage more people to participate in the labour force for longer.”

PROFESSIONAL SERVICE INDUSTRIES NEED TO STOP MILKING TAXPAYERS AND DO THEIR JOB.

Here’s another reason why it’s time to crack down on the legal industry along with other professional services.

Allen’s a legal law firm, was engaged to audit alleged dodgy behaviour by KPMG exposed by a whistleblower and instead covered it up.

There is a serious lack of ethics across Australia’s managerial class that extends far beyond our bureaucracy.

Taxpayers spend billions of dollars each year via our government to Legal, Accounting and Consultancy firms and in return we get coverups and grifting.

Industry pays billions more while the Government watchdog ASIC sleeps at the wheel.

ICAC should be all over this but instead they are also engulfed in their own incompetence.

People First has a range of policies to protect whistleblowers and crackdown on rorts with professional service firms.

“The blockbuster parliamentary hearing three Fridays ago brought into sharp relief the critical enabling role played by law firm Allens last year in whitewashing the KPMG whistleblower's complaint.

Despite agreeing with KPMG on a scope of work that included "targeted searches and extraction of emails and other documents stored on KPMG's systems", Allens' investigating partners Ross Drinnan and Christopher Kerrigan elected not to conduct those searches at all.

Allens' work for KPMG is only the latest unedifying case study of law firms' lucrative sideline in the dark art of workplace investigations.

Crane your neck around corporate
Australia and you will see a panoply of these contrivances, all directed at the pretence of being objective and thorough, and of providing moral cover under the most important cover of all: legal privilege.”

WHY HASN’T THE HEAD OF ASIO BEEN SACKED OVER BONDI? IS THERE SOME KIND OF COVERUP?

Check out this drivel from the head of ASIO - Mike Burgess.

This guy is a national security threat based on his incompetence and buck passing alone.

He laments that leaders didn’t take his warnings about “anti-semitism” more seriously prior to the Bondi shootings.

The point of Intelligence Agencies is to identify specific threats and shut them down before they occur.

Burgess failed to do this. There were multiple red flags before the Bondi shootings by the Islamic Terrorists, that ASIO and the AFP failed to act on.

Claiming that he warned about “anti-semitism” is pure buckpassing. He then has the audacity to claim that anti-Semitic behaviour increased permission for the shootings to occur.

Antisemitism doesn’t carry a gun - it is a broad yet vague political slur mainly applied to non-violent Muslims.

It’s like blaming climate deniers for climate change or Albanese claiming people that don’t like him are a threat to society.

Burgess should acknowledge that his agency failed to take Islamic extremism seriously and resign.

It beggars belief this guy is being taken seriously along with the fact that no political party other than Peoplefirstparty.au thinks he should be sacked.

“Spy chief Mike Burgess has revealed his profound frustration and regret that his repeated warnings about antisemitism posing the country's deadliest threat were underestimated by those in leadership positions prior to last year's Bondi terror attack.

In his first sit-down interview since the massacre, conducted for the book Bondi Terror, the ASIO director-general revealed moments of "deep regret" but insisted others in society should have heeded his public warnings about the urgency of the antisemitism threat confronting the nation.

Instead, he said, antisemitic behaviour became
"normalised" and that this "increased the permission for politically motivated violence"

Bowen's climate tsars set up ‘misinformation' unit to silence critics. 👇

You really know they know their lies have been exposed when they have to start setting up “misinformation units” to peddle their lies and shut down anyone that exposes them.

The phrase “climate change” is a tautology. Of course the climate changes.

Wasting billions on foreign made renewables that are 70% owned by foreigners whilst destroying our own base load energy supplies will never change that.

To stop subsides for renewables and start building our own base energy supplies sign up to PeopleFirstParty.au today.

“Chris Bowens department has launched a cross-agency working group to fight back against "climate misinformation" it claims is thwarting the nation's troubled green energy transition, as the Climate Change Authority led by Matt Kean stands accused of colluding with activists on a "stealth carbon tax".

The department, when contacted for comment about the working group, cited “strong and persistent public concern about the spread of climate and energy misinformation" presented to a Greens-proposed and Greens-led Senate inquiry earlier this year.

The CCA said the new working group could: establish a "more collaborative approach to addressing climate misinformation" by developing a shared message framework across agencies; translate technical policy into practical explanations; use audience insight and misinformation monitoring to identify risks; and establish a "whole-of-government rapid-response approach to climate and energy misinformation".

The insights paper - "Misinformation: A climate policy risk" - said climate misinformation was "part of a broader challenge around information integrity that affects many policy areas ... effective responses require co-ordination across government, with different agencies contributing expertise, insights and actions.”

REFORM THE EDUCATION SECTOR TO REDUCE IMMIGRATION

Interesting conversation that draws attention to Australia’s skilled immigrant program.

Whilst I agree that Builders should be consider Tier 1 rather than Tier 3, I think there is a much more important conversation to be had.

The percentage of school leavers who attend University has increased from around 20% in the 1980’s to over 50% today.

There around 300,000 students who leave school each year. This means almost 100,000 students are delaying entering the workforce by up to another 4-5 years to go into a role that isn’t a trade.

If you multiply that 100,000 by the last four decades it means there are now millions more working in service roles such as law, academia, superannuation and the bureaucracy rather than wealth generating manufacturing and building industries.

Rather than continually import more migrants to fill our skills shortage, the government should reform our education system so that we train more students in productive skilled industries rather than unproductive service industries.

This is why People First will cap Government funded University places and increase foreign student fees to fund more apprenticeships and TAFE places.

The other conversation that needs to be had is the declining birth rate which is largely (not all) driven by unaffordable housing and cost of living.

People First will address these issues by lowering taxes, making superannuation voluntary and reforming monetary policy.

ARE THE LEGAL PROFESSION PAID TOO MUCH?

When I worked in business services, it always amazed me how many barristers were late in paying their tax. 👇

Peter Dunning was the barrister the LNP used to argue against my case, in which the judge stated that members had no recourse to the courts if a political party didn’t uphold the rules of their own constitution.

That is, the very organisations that make the law don’t have to uphold their own laws.

The hypocrisy is breathtaking.

What’s of more relevance is that barristers can charge up to $25,000 a day for their so called expertise.

Legal fees in this country are out of control.

People First will lobby to cap charge out rates in the legal profession. The law should not be exploited for super profits.

Prohibitive legal fees are a massive burden on society. It denies basic equity to everyday people, particularly victims who can't afford expensive legal fees as well as being a massive impost on business costs.

The legal industry has long been overlooked when looking at government exploitation, yet the industry is on a par with the Universities, NDIS, Superannuation and the Bureaucracy when it comes to insiders grifting taxpayers and consumers through exorbitant fees for unproductive services.

Legal professionals need to be curtailed from exploiting government legislation, which is designed to protect the people, not bankrupt them or deny their right to justice.

“One of Australia's highest-paid commercial silks - tipped to be Queensland's next president of the Court of Appeal - has been sued by the Australian Taxation Office for an unpaid tax debt of $770,000.

The Deputy Commissioner of Taxation lodged the debt claim in the Brisbane Supreme Court against former Queensland - solicitor-general and former Australian Bar Association president Peter Dunning on May 19.

Mr Dunning, who is reported to charge fees of $25,000 a day…” told The Australian he had since paid his tax bill.

He declined to say how he came to have an unpaid tax debt that ended up in the Supreme Court.”

SUPERANNUATION IS NOT WORKING

If you wanted proof that Superannuation is not working then the figures below prove it. 👇

The percentage of people working longer has increased dramatically in the last two decades DESPITE compulsory Superannuation.

The argument put forward by Superannuation advocates is that the percentage of people on a pension has decreased because of superannuation.

This argument is false - if that was the case more people would have retired.

The latest ASFA figures show the median superannuation balance for women aged 60-64 is $174,644. This is well below the amount needed to go off a part pension of circa $333,000.

For men of the same age the median balance is $236,126 - still nowhere the amount needed to stop relying on the full pension of $733,500.

No median balance of any age group is anywhere near that proving superannuation is not working.

If you want to stop the rort called compulsory superannuation sign up today at Peoplefirstparty.au

“Australia has seen a dramatic transformation of retirement over the past 20 years, with more Australians delaying retirement than ever before, reshaping expectations for later life.

This shift matters because it marks a fundamental change in how people transition out of the workforce — with important implications for financial security in later life.

The decision to retire is no longer driven purely by personal preference or age alone. It’s increasingly shaped by policy, housing wealth, super balances and whether someone can afford to stop working.

In 2003, about 70% of women and almost half of men aged 60–64 had fully retired from the workforce. Twenty years later, those numbers have fallen to 41% and 27% respectively. For people aged 65–69, retirement rates have also dropped – from 86% to 66% among women, and from 73% to 61% among men.”

With Australia’s housing market is in dire straits, 👇it is critical that Australians back the party with the best solutions to get Australia’s economy on track.

Not only does People First have policies to provide immediate cost of living relief, we will fix the structural imbalances in our economy.

We will crack down on capital flight by increasing taxes on profits sent offshore, reform capital controls to reduce household debt and establish an Infrastructure Bank to fund the construction of Infrastructure that encourage genuine productivity.

As you can see Australia has one of the highest household debt levels in the world. There is going to be a lot of pain going forward if house prices continue to fall which is why financial know how is more important than ever.

“Australia’s biggest bank has dramatically downgraded its property outlook, warning Sydney is facing one of its “quickest and deepest” housing crashes in at least 20 years.

Fresh analysis from Commonwealth Bank reveals national home prices are expected to plunge 9 per cent peak-to-trough, with Sydney and Melbourne copping the brunt of the downturn at 13 per cent and 12 per cent drops respectively.

“Housing market conditions have weakened considerably since our last forecast update on 3 June, three weeks after the Budget,” its report states.”
