🌟 Recipe of the Year Judging Day 🌟

We are incredibly proud of Elyse and Theo, who represented Sherwood State School at the Recipe of the Year Judging Day!

Both students were exceptional representatives of our school, taking their important role as judges seriously and providing thoughtful, honest and appropriate feedback throughout the day. They had the wonderful opportunity to be seated alongside the Hon Di Farmer MP and a representative from Health and Wellbeing Queensland, who both commented on how impressed they were with Elyse and Theo.

It is fantastic to see our students representing Sherwood with such confidence, maturity and enthusiasm. Well done, Elyse and Theo! 👏

🌈🫧 WHAT. A. DAY! 🫧🌈

A HUGE thank you to all of our amazing Sherwood families, teachers and organisers who got behind our Colour & Foam Run!

Whether you fundraised, donated, came along, got covered in colour and foam, or simply joined in the fun — we honestly can’t thank you enough for your support.

It was so wonderful seeing the kids (and plenty of grown-ups!) getting involved, laughing, running, dancing and making some very colourful memories together.

Thanks to the grown-ups who supported our wonderful children, they have raised over $17k which the P&C will put towards making our school an even better place for them to explore, learn, discover and play.

What started as an idea to give the kids a fun experience has turned into such a fantastic day for our whole school community — and we couldn’t have done it without everyone getting behind it.

🌿 Reminder: FONA Plant & Bake Sale Tomorrow! 🧁

Don’t forget—the FONA Plant and Bake Sale is happening tomorrow, Wednesday 9th September!

Kicking off at 8am, our hardworking FONA stars will be selling a wonderful variety of native, flowering and indoor plants, along with plenty of our famous yummy baked treats! You can also test your Maths skills with Guess the Lolly Jar.

All money raised will go towards future FONA projects, so remember to bring a few dollars along. EFTPOS facilities will also be available.

🌈 What an amazing P&C Colour Run! 🌈

Our P&C Colour Run was a fantastic afternoon filled with colour, laughter and plenty of fun! It was wonderful to see our students getting involved, having a great time and enjoying the excitement with their friends.

A huge thank you to our wonderful P&C, volunteers, staff and families who helped make the event such a success. Your time, effort and support are greatly appreciated and help make events like this so special for our school community.

Thank you to everyone who came along and made it such a colourful and memorable day!

Hi Sherwood Families,
It’s almost time to GET MESSY!
Thanks to our amazing P&C all students can participate .
With the long weekend coming up, we wanted to make sure families have the run times handy, especially if you’re heading away.
RUN TIMES – THURSDAY
Upper School: 1:00pm
Lower School: 2:00pm
The children will be organised under the hall before their run, with classes starting in staggered groups.

What to wear
Come prepared to get VERY messy! STUDENTS CAN NOT PARTICIPATE IN SCHOOL UNIFORM
• Old clothes you don’t mind getting colourful
• Closed-in shoes
• Hat
• Towel + change of clothes for afterwards
• Plastic bag for wet/dirty clothes
• Sunglasses or protective eyewear if your child would like them
White clothes are not staying white!

What a fantastic morning for our Litter Walk! It was wonderful to see so many of our students getting involved, working together and helping to keep our local community clean and beautiful.

A big thank you to Brisbane City Council for supporting this initiative and providing the litter pickers for our students to use. We are so proud of everyone who joined us and helped make a positive difference in our community! ♻️🌏
