Gold Coast, you didn’t just show up. You doubled down 🙌🏼

100 participants last year. 200 this year. And together, this community raised over $120,000 for older women experiencing homelessness.

The energy last night was electric (yes, we’re still buzzing) but what really got us was watching a movement grow in real time. More people choosing to see the issue. More people choosing to act.

Every dollar raised is a step toward safe, permanent housing for older women who deserve so much more than to be forgotten.

To everyone who fundraised, showed up, or shared the message: thank you. This is what happens when a community decides no one gets left behind.

Frizelle Sunshine and Sunshine Ford are back for round two.

For the second year in a row, they're partnering with the Live Like Her Challenge, after seeing the impact last year's challenge made, both teams wanted back in.

Because hidden homelessness among older women is one of the fastest-growing issues in our community, and it takes more than one night, one campaign, or one business to shift that.

This partnership is Frizelle Sunshine and Sunshine Ford using their platform for something bigger than themselves. Bringing people together. Building awareness. Backing real change for older women who need safety and stability.

Two years in shows this isn't a box-ticking exercise. It's momentum. And they want more of the community climbing in with them this year.

Brisbane, you well and truly showed up last night 👏🏼🚗

Nearly 400 people came together in one night, for one reason: because older women experiencing homelessness deserve to be seen.

That’s the whole point of the Live Like Her Challenge. For one night, you stepped a little closer to a reality that’s often hidden in plain sight. Older women are the fastest-growing group experiencing homelessness in Australia, and most of the time, no one even notices.

Last night, Brisbane noticed.

A huge thank you to all of our sponsors. Nights like this don’t happen without people willing to back a cause before it’s easy or obvious. Your support is what turns awareness into real housing, real safety, and real stability for older women who need it.

A special shout out to Joel Dry and Loretta Ryan for hosting the evening with so much heart.

And to everyone who registered, showed up, sat with the discomfort for a night, and left thinking differently, thank you. That’s exactly how change starts.

This isn’t the end of the story. It’s the start of what Brisbane does next. If last night moved you, there are plenty of ways to stay in it: come back for next year’s challenge, bring someone with you, or help us keep telling these stories so more people see what you saw last night.

"I've become involved in the Live Like Her Challenge because I see too many of our beautiful older women sleeping in parks, on beaches, in cars. It shouldn't be happening here."

That's the reality behind this challenge. Not a distant issue. Not someone else's problem. Older women, right now, without a safe place to sleep.

The Live Like Her Challenge raises awareness, yes, but it goes further than that. It helps put people back into a home, with security and dignity restored.

"To be in your senior years and not have a place to live, I could not think of anything more depressing." At 63, one of our supporters put it simply: it could happen to anybody.

Could you live in your car for one night? Most of us couldn't. But for too many older women, it's not a choice.

$255,034 raised. We are over half way to reaching our goal 👏🏼

That gap is the difference between an older woman sleeping in her car tonight and an older woman sleeping somewhere safe.

We're getting closer, and it's because Brisbane keeps showing up. Every dollar raised goes toward secure housing solutions for older women doing it tough right now, women who are grandmothers, former nurses, retail workers, mums. People who never thought this would be their reality.

We're not there yet. But we're not far off either.
