ConceptLabs, a Queensland manufacturer of high-precision formulations for cosmetics and cleaning products, has been working with Manufacturing Skills Queensland’s Operational Excellence Program to improve consistency and visibility across their operations.

By involving their whole leadership team in practical, on-site training, they’ve started making changes like better data collection, workplace organisation using 5S, and visual management systems. These steps are helping create a safer, more organised environment and giving clearer insight into daily production.

As businesses grow and processes get more complex, having clear systems and reliable data becomes essential. Concept Labs’ experience shows how practical improvements can make a real difference.

Launchpad 2027 brought together 200 students from across the Darling Downs to explore the dynamic world of aerospace and advanced manufacturing careers.

Manufacturing Skills Queensland partnered with The Boeing Company, Aviation Australia (Aerospace Gateway to Industry Schools Program), and St Mary's College Toowoomba to deliver this inspiring two-day program that connected young people with real industry opportunities.

From a careers information session to immersive, hands-on workshops, students from eleven regional schools experienced firsthand what it takes to build a career in Queensland's growing manufacturing and aerospace sector.

The enthusiasm and talent we witnessed was incredible. Thank you to Ros Bates MP and Trevor Watts MP for supporting the future workforce, and to every student, parent, and educator who participated. Toowoomba’s manufacturing industry has a bright future ahead!

The Gateway to Industry Schools Program is proudly funded and supported by the Queensland Government.
