💙 Celebrating Tony and his generosity! 💙
For the past year, Tony has generously donated to the Mount Gravatt Community Centre, and we are incredibly grateful for his ongoing support. A few weeks ago, we had the pleasure of presenting Tony with a Certificate of Appreciation to recognise his kindness and generosity. 🌟
Tony first connected with us through our Ways to Wellness program and has since become a wonderful part of our community. He has connected in so many ways such as being a member of our Senior's Social Group and Community Choir along with attending many of our events. 🎶
We are so thankful to have Tony as part of the Mount Gravatt Community Centre community and truly appreciate everything he contributes. Thank you, Tony! 💙

💜 Finding connection, confidence and her voice again

At 82, Desley is a dedicated carer who also navigates chronic pain. When she connected with Ways to Wellness at the Mt Gravatt Community Centre, she was looking for support, connection and opportunities to rebuild her confidence. Over six months, with support from her Link Worker, Desley gradually reconnected with her community through Art for All, our Seniors Social Group, our community choir and carers’ support and counselling.

Desley’s story is a beautiful reminder that connection, choice and having someone walk alongside you can make a meaningful difference. 💜

Michael’s story with Ways to Wellness 💚
After the passing of his wife, Michael found himself lonely and lacking difference to his days.
When he reached out to Ways To Wellness, Evey accompanied Michael to MGCCI’s Art for All group, where he has made social connections with likeminded people. You can also see Michael at the centre volunteering, and he has become a valued part of our team ☺️
This Loneliness Awareness Week, we’re showcasing how finding the right connections can change an individual’s life. Having the support to do so can make all the difference in creating real, genuine connection within community 💚

Loneliness Awareness Week was such a beautiful week full of connection at the Mt Gravatt Community Centre.
We would like to extend a big thank you to everyone who made this week so special. A big thank you to Evey, our Link Worker, who worked tirelessly this week to ensure everything was organised and everyone felt safe and welcome!
Thank you to our volunteers - without you it none of this would be possible.
We would also like to thank White Lady Funerals for their generous donation of flowers with friendship affirmations! These were such a lovely addition to our week and were beloved by attendees.
Thank you to Kara Cook MP and Corrine McMillan MP - State Member for Mansfield for coming along to get involved in the week, and taking the time to have meaningful conversations about loneliness with us.
Thank you to the Brisbane City Council for your very informative information session, and to Brisbane Festival and Cheep Trill for their first session of Community Choir.
Thank you to everyone who came along, we hope you had a wonderful week ☺️
