Student Free Day – Friday 5 June
Please note that Friday 5 June will be a Student
Free Day.
On this day, teachers from Ringarooma, Scottsdale and Bridport will come together to moderate student work samples and engage in professional learning discussions focused on evidence-based teaching practices.
These collaborative opportunities support
consistency in teacher judgement and
strengthen the quality of teaching and learning
across our schools.
We appreciate your support
and hope our students enjoy an extra day to
recharge. We hope everyone enjoys the long weekend with students returning to school on Tuesday, 9th June.

A reminder that this Friday is a statewide professional learning day (student free day) for all DECYP students from Kindergarten to Year 12 💜

That means… no school and the perfect excuse for a little sleep-in! 😴

And the good news doesn’t stop there, Monday is also a public holiday for the King’s Birthday 🎈

Enjoy the extra long weekend!

Nature Play and Autumn Investigations in Kindergarten

Childhood is a precious time, and an important part of childhood is having the opportunity to be outside in nature. Research has shown that children benefit from having time to explore the natural environment. Children are natural learners and display curiosity about the world around them. Opportunities to explore the natural environment provide them with the time and place to learn, using what nature has provided as learning materials.
Through play, children learn to connect with and respect the natural environment in a way that cannot be done under a roof or within walls. This can then lead to the development of scientific understandings about the natural world around us and encourage thoughtfulness about issues affecting our natural environment.

Our Kindergarten students have enjoyed investigating nature this term through observing the changes to their outdoor environment which have accompanied the change in season.

Recently in 3/4A, students have undertaken numerous activities to develop their knowledge of First Nations Australians' history and culture.
This included an excursion to the Queen Victoria Museum to observe and collect research from the First Tasmanian display.
They created boomerang art that tells stories using Aboriginal symbols, and some students even got the chance to make and eat damper.
