What can I bring for free?

The two-month green waste fee waiver started this week. Here's what's in and what's not:

Yes please
• Branches, prunings and limbs
• Leaves, bark and loose litter
• Grass clippings and slashings
• Stumps and roots - shake the dirt off

Not green waste
• Treated pine, painted or milled timber
• Soil, rubble, rocks or building waste
• Bagged waste in plastic bags - tip the load out
• General household rubbish

Loads mixed with rubbish or building waste will be charged at the standard rate, so it's worth separating before you load up.

A quick tip: bring a rake and a tarp. It makes unloading faster and you'll get out of there quicker on a busy Saturday.

Green waste fees waived for the fire season - 15 September – 15 November 2026

A reminder that firebreak and fuel reduction deadlines are coming up on 15 November, and Council has approved a two-month waiver of green waste fees to help you get your property ready.

Bridgetown Waste Facility - What you need to know:
Free for residents and ratepayers - bring your 26/27 tip pass, or ID showing a Shire address.

No clicks taken off your tip pass for green waste during the trial
Non-residents, or anyone without the ID above, will still pay the standard fee.

A quick favour: green waste loads need to be just green or brown plant and tree material, kept separate from your general rubbish. Pots, plastic bags, ties and metal are the big ones to watch - plastic contamination makes the material much more expensive to process and reduces what we can reuse.

Thanks for helping us keep the loads clean, and good luck with your clearing.
