ANZAC DAY πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ίβ€οΈ

In towns like ours, ANZAC Day means more than just a date on the calendarβ€”it’s a moment to come together, stand side by side, and remember those who gave so much πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί

The spirit of the ANZACs lives on in the way we look out for one another, lend a hand, and carry that quiet strength through our everyday lives.

However you spend today, take a moment to reflect, remember, and be proud.

BUSH FIRE DANGER PERIOD ENDS IN SNOWY MONARO LGA.

The Bush Fire Danger Period in the Snowy Monaro LGA ended on the 1st April, 2026.

Whilst fire permits are no longer required outside of residential areas, members of the community and visitors are reminded of the following obligations they must take if burning-off, being:
* Notification to all direct neighbours at least 24 hours in advance;
* Notification to the RFS at least 24 hours in advance;
* Ensure that you have planned your burn, put in place mineral earth control lines where needed, have adequate firefighting resources in place to control your fire, and have checked the weather forecast conditions to ensure that it is safe to light the fire.

Your fire is your responsibility, and if you haven't put in place all of the above measures, don't strike the match!

Please help us to keep our community safe.

Notifications to RFS can be made through the RFS website (details below), or by calling the Fire Control Centre on 02 6455 0455 during business hours only.
