On Wednesday 7th December 2022, after much anticipation, we launched our School Values to the Dinjerra community. We have spent approximately 8 months in our โFuture Searchโ process, which
included: collecting input from students, families and s
taff, participating in curriculum days to investigate past trends in education and at Dinjerra and creating a desired pathway for the future for our Dinjerra graduates and finally creating an aspiring vision, mission and enhanced set of school values. Students spent time in classrooms unpacking the new values, working on understanding and creating definitions. We liken this to striving ahead in life, soaring, flying towards a future with open opportunities. SOAR also refers to a plane soaring, which has an historical connection to the Braybrook area, with the RAAF base on the corner of Ashley St and South Road.

We are research-, and refer to โbest practiceโ in Education to design optimal learning experiences for our students. The staff work collaboratively to build high-quality curriculum documentation and agreed upon practices. We have a valuable connection with our families and offer a variety of ways for families to contribute to the school, in terms of classroom volunteers, gardening committee and fundraising and community events.

Dinjerra Primary School started as Tottenham North Primary School in 1953 and has undergone a few name changes over the years. โDinjerraโ was chosen as an Indigenous name, meaning โof the westโ, and the name actually refers to a fish species in Western Australia. Being โof the westโ is true, as over the years, the school has serviced families in the Braybrook, West Footscray, Tottenham and Maidstone communities.
