With the closing of the Royal Commission going forward their needs to be a independent body to be made up from Veterans and Veteran spouses that have been pushing for reform for the last 10 plus years.
Not a yes man / Women or people that can perceived as yes men. People from the lower ranks who understand the complexities and rigour of service life. People that have a vested interest in doing what is right not what is along the party lines.
We have seen over the years so many times with an enquire and it is recommended that something happens and the job is given to a mate whom at one stage disagreed with the original reason whey the enquire happened and ends up running the s**t show.
TO THE DETRIMENT OF THE PEOPLE AND FAMILIES.
It should be National based in Canberra but have people located in each state to assist in any enquires or investigations which then report back to the Canberra.
They should have full access to all military bases and Veterans and families.
They should be appointed to the position for no more that 3 years and the rotation should be staggered so that you always have 2 of the 3 legs on the ground.
