Today volunteers from brigades at Musselroe Bay, Tomahawk, Branxholm, Ringarooma, St Helens, Dilston and Ravenswood supported the Bushfire Risk Unit to conduct a planned fuel reduction burn at Ansons Bay.

Our dedicated volunteers play a valuable role in assisting to protect lives. Together they make a difference supporting and connecting our communities and helping to keep them and our environment safe.

In October 2026, the Australian Government is launching AusAlert, a new national warning system that uses the latest technology to send emergency messages to compatible mobile devices.

It’s a fast and reliable way to help communities like yours be informed and better prepared during local and national emergencies.

It’s just one of the many ways the Australian Government and state and territory emergency services organisations are helping to keep Australians safer.

National Volunteers week, a little about our crew.

We all work , our crew is made up of farmers, those who work in retail/customer service & other departments , home business & all have family /partners.

One thing I've learnt is you work with your volunteers life style and respect they give time when they can to our brigade & community.

As Sec/fire fighter ,I do many jobs one of those things is keeping in touch with each crew member. Checking in on them and if not well or got lots happening offering help.

Volunteers are important and when they are on call 24/7, its important to look after them all.

Branxholm Brigade has
9 members in Branxholm area.
2 members from other Brigades
1 member from another area.

Thank you to our crew members and huge thankyou to their families who are a big part of our crew family.

Thank you to all Volunteers
