Every "AI for turf" tool I've seen tells you what to spray. None of them tell you why, which model said so, or what paper backs it up.

That's the gap GAIP Hub fills.

Built over four years for superintendents who want the reasoning, not just the prescription.

Every recommendation shows the model used, the inputs, the assumptions, and the peer-reviewed source. For example Smith-Kerns for dollar spot. MLSN/SLAN for fertility. FAO-56 for irrigation. Species-specific PGR GDD models. Climate-adjusted wear and recovery scoring calibrated to your site's elevation, hemisphere, and turf type.
If a recommendation can't cite a paper, it doesn't get used.

No fertiliser to sell you. No fungicide rebates. No upsell built into the algorithm. Just an agronomic decision engine that makes your reasoning faster and more defensible when the board asks why you sprayed, or why you didn't.

GAIP Hub is available as part of an annual subscription. Currently working with golf clubs and sports grounds across AU, NZ, UK, and SE Asia.

GAIP Hub is available as part of a retained Gilba Solutions consulting program.

Happy to do a 20-minute walkthrough using your own soil tests and weather data so you can see what it'd actually look like for your site.

Who actually owns your golf course's soil data?

If your soil tests, spray records, and program history live on a platform run by your product supplier, the answer might surprise you. Switching suppliers can mean losing years of records — or fighting to get them back.

That's not a bug. It's how the system is designed to keep you.

The GAIP Hub works differently. Your data stays yours, regardless of who your agronomist is. Because your course's history belongs to your club.

Ask your current platform: what happens to my data if I leave?

"Feeds the soil biology." "Activates the microbiome." "Supports plant immunity." What does any of that actually mean?

The biostimulant category in turf is the fastest-growing and least regulated segment of the market. Marketing claims are extraordinary.

Independent peer-reviewed evidence for many of those claims is thin to nonexistent.

Gilba has been calling this out for years. Not because biostimulants have no role. Some do, under specific conditions, with evidence to support them. But because superintendents deserve to know the difference between a product with a university trial behind it and one with a glossy brochure.

We test claims against the literature before we recommend a product. We cite the research. We tell you when the evidence is weak and the risk is yours. That's what independent agronomy looks like. It's less comfortable than being told everything works. But it's more useful.

Ask us to review any product you're currently using. We'll tell you what the evidence actually says.

Most Australian superintendents manage turf disease the same way: they wait to see it, then spray it. There's a better way.

Predictive models like Smith-Kerns dollar spot model use temperature and relative humidity data to calculate accumulated disease risk before symptoms appear.

A spray timed to a risk threshold protects the surface at a fraction of the fungicide cost of a reactive program. The GAIP Hub runs several predictive models that continuously using local climate data for each client site.

When the risk threshold builds, you get an alert — before the disease becomes a problem. This isn't theoretical. It's peer-reviewed, field-validated, and integrated into the way we manage every client site where disease pressure is a seasonal reality. How is your current program deciding when to spray? Is the answer 'when we see it' or 'when the data says we should'?

Ask us about integrating predictive disease modelling into your site management program.

New resource on the site: a month-by-month pre-emergent and post-emergent herbicide timing chart for Australian turf.

It covers 50+ w**d species across grass w**ds, broadleaf w**ds, and sedges with colour-coded application windows. The data comes from Clemson University HGIC 2334, shifted for the Southern Hemisphere and adjusted based on what I see in the field across NSW, VIC, and QLD.

Each species links to its own identification and control page. There are also application safety notes covering spring green-up restrictions, high temperature risks, and herbicide resistance management.

Your rep knows your course. Then they leave. And you start again.

High staff turnover in product distribution is an industry-wide issue. Reps move between companies, move up, move on. Every time they leave, they take years of course knowledge with them.

The new rep arrives with a product list and a smile, and the relationship — the nuance of your soil, your water quality, your particular Poa pressure, your greens history — has to be rebuilt from scratch.

When your agronomist is the principal of an independent consultancy, the knowledge stays. The files stay. The history stays. Our customers have been receiving consistent, continuous independent agronomic support for years. Not because we're the cheapest option. Because consistency has agronomic value.

Continuity in agronomic advice is worth more than most superintendents price it. Ask us about our retained program structure.

35 years watching good advice walk off the course. That's why we built something that stays. https://gilbasolutions.com/turf-agronomist-services/

If your club isn't in the top 20 on your supplier's client list, you probably already know what that feels like.

Big turf distributors give their best agronomic attention to their biggest accounts. Everyone else gets a program template and a site visit. Your club pays the same product margin but gets a fraction of the service.

Gilba is built differently. Jerry Spencer does every site visit, whether you're a 9-hole club or a championship course.

You shouldn't need to be a marquee venue to get senior advice. Tag your greenkeeper or drop us a message.

Your course isn't getting the agronomist. It's getting the territory rep.

Most big turf suppliers rotate reps every 18 months. The person who sold you the program isn't the one who delivers it, and when they leave, you start over with someone who doesn't know your site.

At Gilba, Jerry does every site visit himself. First visit, third-year review. Same person, same phone number.

How many reps have you had in the last five years? Drop your number below. We're curious.

When did your agronomist last tell you NOT to buy something?

If your turf program costs more every year but the surfaces aren't improving, the data probably says you're over-applying. We've been helping clients cut unnecessary spend since 2013, because the soil science says they should.

We'll audit your current program for free, no strings. Tag a super or turf manager or drop us a message.
