Rotary Club of Bowen celebrated its new Rotary year on the 5th September with Friends of Rotary, families, Kindred Clubs and guests. President Marty welcomed all and presented his report from the 2025 - 2026 year. As all positions within the executive are returning for the following year there was no change to the incoming board.
Special recognition of gold sponsorship was presented to the club from the Executive Officer, Stephanie Cora Bowen Community Centre. Rotary volunteering at the Community Op Shop was an initiative that arose from Rotary Epic Day of Service.
President Marty also had the pleasure of inducting Corrine Williams into membership and presented Friends of Rotary with a special badge in recognition of the great service they do in helping our club.
To finish off the evening a very successful sergeant session & drawing of the raffles by Sergeant Mark with the assistance of our youngest Friends of Rotary Henry and Sophia.
Thank you to all who support Bowen Rotary and we look forward to another successful year 2026 - 2027.

RAWCS - Rotary Australia World Community Service has established an appeal fund for the Nepal flood disaster.

The flooding has left affected families without homes, possessions, and livelihoods, and has raised concerns about the spread of waterborne diseases due to damaged water and sanitation infrastructure.
Funds will assist projects and Rotary Clubs with projects in Nepal, responding to assist families and the communities to recover.

Grant Announcement: Raising Prostate Cancer Awareness in Bowen 🔴🧦

We’re proud to support the Rotary Club of Bowen Inc's Redsocks Project through a QCoal Foundation Community Spirit Grant.

This important initiative will see 100 Rotary Redsocks packs distributed to local men, each including information to help raise awareness of prostate cancer and encourage early conversations with a doctor.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among men globally, with higher mortality rates in rural areas and increasing cases among younger men, early detection has never been more important.

We’re proud to back initiatives like this that start conversations, support early action, and help improve the health and wellbeing of regional Queenslanders 💛

Last week we were happy to donate sausages and bread to feed the Grade 2s and their families at a Star Gazing event held at Bowen State School. Even though it was a cloudy night and the stars were not so easy to spot, everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and the kids got to see some telescopes up close.
It was a pleasure for the Rotary Club of Bowen to support this event 😊
