Yesterday, Bonville Rural Fire Service held our Annual General Meeting, reflecting on another busy and successful year for the brigade.

One of the highlights of the afternoon was the presentation of Life Memberships to two dedicated members former Captain Tim, now Group Officer, and President Greg in recognition of their outstanding service, leadership, and commitment to the RFS and our local community.

Their years of dedication, sacrifice, and support have made a lasting impact on both the brigade and the community. Congratulations and thank you for everything you have contributed over the years.

We are also delighted to announce our new leadership team, which includes a number of younger members stepping into leadership roles. This marks an exciting step forward for the brigade as we continue to grow, support the next generation of leaders, and strengthen our brigade for the future.

Thank you to all members, families, and supporters for your ongoing commitment and support of Bonville RFS.

Members from Bonville Rural Fire Service and North Bellingen Rural Fire Brigade spent the weekend successfully completing their Breathing Apparatus (BA) qualifications.

A huge congratulations to Bonville’s 10 members who completed the course. The addition of BA capability provides firefighters with another vital tool when responding to fires and hazardous environments, allowing crews to operate more safely and effectively in challenging conditions.

This course also marked a significant milestone, being the first BA course delivered within the district, further strengthening Bonville’s operational capability and preparedness.

Well done to all members who took part, and a sincere thank you to the trainers, assessors, and support crews who contributed to making the weekend a success.

Today on International Women’s Day we celebrate the incredible women who are part of our brigade and the many women serving across emergency services. πŸš’πŸ’›

The dedication, strength and commitment shown by our women firefighters is something we are extremely proud of. From training nights to responding to incidents, they play a vital role in protecting our community and strengthening our brigade.

Thank you to the amazing women in our brigade and to women everywhere who continue to inspire, lead and make a difference every day.

We are especially proud to recognise three of our members Sarah, Maddy & Sean who successfully completed their Advanced Firefighter (AF) training over the weekend. An incredible achievement on its own but even more remarkable is that one of our members completed the course while over 39Β½ weeks pregnant! πŸ’ͺ

πŸš’ Training Is Back at Bonville RFS πŸš’

It was great to be back for our first training night after the break, refreshing core skills and getting everyone back into the swing of things.

Our volunteers spent the night practicing hose handling, pump operations and teamwork β€” all essential skills to keep our community safe.

Thanks to everyone who turned up and got stuck in. A strong start to the year and plenty more training ahead πŸ’ͺπŸ”₯

If you’ve ever thought about volunteering, now’s a great time to get involved.

πŸ”₯ Bonville sending support south πŸ”₯

Four of our fantastic Coffs Coast volunteers are heading to Victoria today to assist with the ongoing fires. They’ll be deployed on the fireground for three days, working off Coramba 1, which was sent down over the weekend.

We’re also proud to share that one of our very own Bonville members (Craig Melrose) is among those travelling south to lend a hand a great example of the commitment and teamwork our members show, wherever they’re needed.

We wish all deployed members a safe and successful deployment and look forward to welcoming them home. A huge thank you to each of these volunteers for giving their time, and special thanks to their families for the continued support behind the scenes.
