Beating the worst of the weather to safely retrieve the sickest of the sick, when it matters most.

This year we’re inviting you to get involved and thank a first responder in your community.

First responders come in many shapes and sizes. Paramedics, volunteers, transport team members, doctors, nurses, and a public network of more than 30,000 trained bystanders who are willing to step up for those in need.

💪 Hidden talent: I dabble in a bit of bladesmithing in my spare time.

🌿 Best part of small town life: Being close to the bush, not far to get away ☺️

Meet King👋

☕ Very Important Coffee Order: 2 at a time, extra hot so its still warm when you start coffee #2. One sugar, full cream milk.

😄 Known for: The co owner of the local BP, busy local mechanic, Quindanning Fire Brigade Vice Captain, (and all round legend according to us at st john)

💪 Hidden talent: Rally driving, and medals for shooting!

🌿 Best part of small town life: No traffic! Everything is close by, and you wont get stuck in a traffic jam like the city.

✨ Why they do what they do: my wife needs a companion sometimes 😊

A little behind the scenes from our recent training night:
On monday evening our Boddington St John crew teamed up with our legends of local SES volunteers in the park to practise a difficult extrication scenario.
Together we worked through a challenging medical extraction, practicing how we safely assess, treat and remove a patient from a difficult location.
These training sessions are where the problem solving happens, figuring out access, patient care, equipment, communication and how we all work together (squashed, like sardines, in this instance) safely in challenging spaces.
These exercises are such an important part of building confidence, refining teamwork, building muscle memory, and making sure we can work seamlessly together when the real call inevitably comes in.
Huge thanks to our local SES crew for joining us and always being ready to lend a hand, and a huge thanks to our brave, live patient Simone who was manhandled (maybe slightly inelegantly) from the predicament she found herself volunteering for.
We look forward to challenging ourselves with the next round of training, and welcome any agencies wanting or willing to take part 💚🧡

As you may have noticed, a few of the volunteers at St John Ambulance Boddington are going pink!
Our crew are dyeing their hair pink to help raise funds and awareness for the Breast Cancer Foundation. For some of our volunteers, this cause is deeply personal, with team members having been directly affected by breast cancer through their own journeys or through loved ones and friends.
For the month of June, our volunteers are proudly wearing pink to honour survivors, remember those we’ve lost, and stand beside everyone currently facing breast cancer.
In our small but mighty town, community means showing up for each other and this is one (very visible) way we can help make a difference. If you see our pink-haired volunteers around town, give them a wave and help us spread awareness for a cause close to many hearts.
We believe that nobody should die from cancer, and every dollar could help fund a new idea or development to make the difference. 💕
Please support our team fundraiser if you're able, otherwise please share to raise awareness of our cause (and maybe so our patients don't get a fright when we arrive in the middle of the night!🤣)
