The Shire of Boddington is seeking a motivated and suitably experienced Plant Operator/General Hand to join the Infrastructure Services team. The primary purpose of this role is to operate a variety of plant and equipment to support civil construction and maintenance activities across the Shire.

Pursuant to s6.19 of the Local Government Act 1995, notice is hereby given that the Shire of Boddington intends to introduce a Sporting Club Hire Charge for Boddington Swimming Club, with an effective commencement date of 10 September 2026.

Council at its Ordinary Council Meeting on Wednesday, 26 August 2026 resolved to adopt a fee of $600 per year.

The Sporting Club Hire Charge for Boddington Swimming Club will be included in the Schedule of Fees and Charges in accordance with the Local Government Act 1995.

𝐁𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐚𝐬 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨 𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐬

The Boddington Blue Light Christmas Disco is set to return in 2026 following Council's approval of a Community Grant.
Hosted by the Boddington Blue Light Unit, the event brings together local children, families, volunteers, police and community members for an evening of music, games, free food and a special visit from Santa.

Following a fantastic turnout of 140 children in 2025, organisers are looking forward to welcoming even more children and families this year.

Community consultation is closing soon for the Draft Old School and Town Hall Revitalisation Plan.

The Draft Plan sets out a long-term vision to transform the precinct into a vibrant and connected community hub, bringing together community facilities and public spaces for current and future generations.

Feedback received during the consultation period will help inform Council's consideration of the Draft Plan.

𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐦 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐦𝐬 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭

Council has supported a further five-year partnership with 5 Rivers NRM, continuing locally accessible land care and natural resource management services from July 2027 to June 2032.

The partnership supports rural landholders, waterways and natural areas through technical advice, community grants, restoration projects, workshops and sustainable farming initiatives. Previous work has included restoration planning for sites along the Hotham and Williams Rivers, including Ranford Pool and Quindanning.

Continued support will also help 5 Rivers NRM attract external funding and specialist expertise for projects that protect waterways, native habitats, threatened species and agricultural land.

𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐰𝐢𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬

Council has introduced a subsidised annual hire arrangement for the Boddington Swimming Club to support affordable swimming opportunities for local children and young people.

The arrangement will provide access to three swimming lanes for up to seven hours each week during the club’s season. This will support the club in providing coaching, teaching water safety skills and creating opportunities for members to represent Boddington at regional swimming carnivals.

Supporting local sport also helps build confidence, skills and healthy, active lifestyles within the community.

The Boddington Swimming Pool is due to open for the 2026/27 season on Thursday, 15 October.

More Boddington families than ever are taking part in Better Beginnings at the Boddington Library. Designed for children aged 0-5 and their parents or caregivers, the program combines stories, songs and play-based activities that support early literacy development in a fun and welcoming environment.

𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐲

Following the recent much-needed rain, the Shire’s infrastructure team is busy progressing the winter grading program across the local road network.

The rainfall has provided improved conditions for grading, allowing the team to reshape road surfaces, address uneven areas and improve drainage where required. Works will continue across the network while conditions remain suitable.

Motorists are asked to follow all posted road signage, slow down and take care when approaching graders and other machinery. Your patience is appreciated while these important road maintenance works are completed.

𝐁𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐬

Boddington Youth Centre members enjoyed an action-packed day at Bounce Cannington during the recent Pupil Free Day, with 18 young people taking part in the excursion. The excursion gave local young people the chance to stay active, connect with friends and enjoy a memorable day out.

Thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the day such a success.
