Today, on International Women’s Day, we celebrate the powerful impact women have across every corner of aquatics 💜

From young girls discovering confidence through learning to swim, to female athletes chasing podiums through competitive pathways, women continue to shape the future of aquatic sport. We recognise the women who coach, mentor and inspire, the lifeguards who keep our communities safe, the teachers who build life-saving skills, and the leaders working behind the scenes to grow and innovate our industry.

At every level in the water, on pool deck and beyond, women drive inclusion, strength and progress. Today we celebrate their achievements and the waves they continue to make.

We’d love to welcome swimmers to attend a Squad Assessment and get ready to join our program ahead of the reopening of the newly refurbished Beenleigh Aquatic Centre 50m pool in mid-February.

Whether you're at home or visiting our centre, water safety starts with awareness.

Did you know that everyday household items like bathtubs, buckets, and even pet bowls can pose a drowning risk to young children?

This spring, remember to be vigilant and make your home water-safe with these four key actions from Royal Life Saving Australia:

✔️ Supervise – Always keep an eye on children around water
✔️ Restrict – Use barriers and lockable gates to limit access
✔️ Teach – Help kids understand water safety from an early age
✔️ Respond – Learn CPR so you’re ready in an emergency
