In this exclusive online event, Matt will reflect on his writing life and the themes that run through so much of his work – from hope and mental health to love, connection and the paths our lives can take. Omar Musa has won the 2026 Miles Franklin Literary Award for Fierceland.

When describing this year’s winning novel, the judges said, “Omar Musa's Fierceland is a tour de force set against the backdrop of the destruction of Borneo's rainforests.
