Are you a small business considering your next work ute, van or fleet car?

We’re inviting local businesses to attend a free breakfast event to get practical advice about electric vehicles before they lease or buy.

The aim of the breakfast is to help local businesses understand the financial benefits of using an EV for work compared with other vehicles and what to check.

Attendees will be able to see EV work vehicles up close, hear from speakers with direct experience, and ask questions about charging, range, payload, running costs, novated leases and day-to-day use.

Event details:

📅 Wednesday June 24
🕒 7am to 9am
📌 Spring Gully General Store

The City’s Affordable Housing Action Plan 2026-2028 outlines a range of actions addressing the need for more affordable and social housing, while also challenging the stigma around homelessness, rough sleeping, and housing stress in the community.

The two-year plan complements the City’s Managed Growth Strategy to support denser and more diverse housing options primarily in urban areas. The Managed Growth Strategy also identifies additional growth areas for greenfield development.

Adopted at Council on Monday night, the Affordable Housing Action Plan 2026-2028 has been informed by public consultation and engagement with key stakeholders.

The Plan includes three flagship projects:

• Partnering in a Housing Australia Future Fund bid working with Registered Housing Providers, youth, health, and community wellbeing organisations
• Making building small homes easier
• Improving community narratives around homelessness in our community

By working in partnership with government agencies, industry and community services, we can take meaningful steps toward improving housing levels in the region, supporting vulnerable people and building a stronger, more inclusive Greater Bendigo.

Landmark First Nations artwork to transform Bendigo Art Gallery façade!

A new major public artwork by senior weaver and cultural knowledge holder Aunty Marilyne Nicholls will be integrated into the façade of the new Bendigo Art Gallery building as part of the Gallery’s transformational redevelopment project.

Using cutting-edge technology, moulds of the unique woven artwork will be created and enlarged to a grand scale for the Gallery facade.

This landmark artwork brings together ancestral knowledge, traditional weaving practice and contemporary architectural innovation at an unprecedented scale.

Aunty Marilyne’s work provides a powerful link between the past and the future. It not only honours the rich cultural heritage of Dja Dja Wurrung People but also strengthens Bendigo’s reputation as a city that values and celebrates First Nations voices, art and storytelling.

Funding partners for the redevelopment include the Victorian Government, City of Greater Bendigo, Bendigo Art Gallery Board and philanthropic donors, including the Sidney Myer Fund & The Myer Foundation and The Ian Potter Foundation.
