munity space for all. The site was originally known as Golden Square Baths, and first opened in 1918.

Walked past the pool and noticed a few works taking place? It’s been a HUGE few weeks!

We’re always focused on making sure our site is as safe as it can be for our community, so we recently made the decision to remove three concrete poles that were no longer serving a purpose.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of some local businesses, along with the hard work of our volunteers, we were able to get the job done much quicker and cheaper than we first thought, which was a huge relief.

Now comes the job of repairing the grounds after the cranes and machinery needed to remove the poles left their mark.

Lawn seed has been laid, the grounds have been tended to, and now we just need a little help from the spring sunshine and rain to bring the grass back to its former glory.

In many ways, we hope you won’t even notice the difference once it’s all finished - or that poles were even there in the first place.

A very big thank you to everyone who helped make this project happen. We’re incredibly grateful for the time, effort and generosity that went into getting the job done.

Thousands of dollars has been raised for Golden Square Pool thanks to the Container Deposit Scheme! And you can still collect cans and bottles and donate to us during the off season ✅

The Container Deposit Scheme is such a brilliant way to raise funds for your community pool - and do something good for our environment at the same time.

Simply collect your cans and bottles at home, and when you go to a refund point - ask for the funds to be directed to Golden Square Pool. Every little bit helps!

Our refund barcode is also included in this post.

All money raised this way will be used to maintain and improve facilities at Golden Square Pool. Thanks for your support.

Our on site collection points will be back in November when we open for summer 😊
