R U OK? Day at the Bendigo Salvos
Today was a quality time for the staff, volunteers and community to come together, connect, check in and remind each other that a simple “Are you OK?” Can make a real difference.
It was a wonderful time to connect, listen, share a cuppa and for some meaningful meditation.

Do you love being creative? Do you want to be part of a growing community? Come along to our free Monday community art space, starting next week on the 17th of August, 1pm-3pm. 100 Neighbourhood Batteries Program:
Battery installation completed at The Salvation Army Bendigo. The program is administered by the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) and funded by the Victorian Government.
The batteries installed to:
•Improve energy reliability and resilience
•Provide energy storage capacity for locally
generated solar power
•Increase access to renewable energy
•Help lower energy bills.
•Reduce costs of power network upgrades
•Support the ability of communities to
personally contribute to Victoria’s energy
transition
•Scale up the delivery of operational models
for neighbourhood-scale batteries

A donation was gratefully received from Tamara who was once a young person who attended our youth group.

Tamara has worked hard with her trainer, Christian and has lost over 30kg. She not only worked on weight loss and fitness but Tamara said she had worked through 31 things in her life that needed healing and wanted to give back to others, and so decided to buy 31kilos of sugar and flour to represent each thing she has let go of to gain a life she is happy to live.

We are incredibly appreciative of her generous donation which will go towards helping our community members and meal programs.

IMPORTRANT UPDATE:

Due to a shortage of available optometrists, our OneSight eye vision clinic has been pushed back and will NOT be running on the 11th of August. It will now run on the 13th of October. If you have already booked an appointment, Spencer will be in contact with you. There are still spots left if you're wanting to book an appointment.
