🌧️🎶It’s raining, it’s pouring, Another storm job is calling. Trees are down,The roads are flooding, SES is out and rolling! 🎶🚨🌧️

🌧️It has been a busy wet start to the week for our amazing volunteers.
Our crews have attended multiple RFAs:
🌲Tree downs over roads
🏡 Requests for assistance with premises flooding
🛟 Water Rescues both locally and our surrounding areas.

With flood waters still receding and road closures still in place it is important to remain vigilant and up to date.

🌳Stay away from trees, drains, low-lying areas, creeks, canals, culverts and floodwater

🚗Stay safe by never driving through floodwater.

📍Find alternative travel routes if roads or underpasses are flooded.

🛘Be aware of driving hazards, such as mud, debris, damaged roads and fallen and damaged trees.

🛑If driving conditions are dangerous, safely pull over on higher ground, away from trees.

📻Tune in to emergency broadcasters such as ABC local radio and designated commercial radio stations to monitor the situation.

This Moderate Flood Warning is being issued for the Broken River downstream of Casey Weir to Orrvale and Kialla.

Moderate Flooding Possible at Orrvale Wednesday Morning
Moderate flooding is occuring now on the Seven Creeks at Kialla West.

Minor flooding is possible along the Goulburn River at Shepparton early Wednesday morning.

Minor flooding at Benalla is easing.

Rainfall across the Broken River catchment since Sunday has caused river level rises with minor to moderate flooding. No further significant rainfall is forecast for the catchment this week.

The Broken River at Orrvale is currently at 5.64 metres and is likely to exceed the minor flood level (6.80 metres) overnight Tuesday into Wednesday.

The river may reach the moderate flood level (7.20 metres) at Orrvale Wednesday morning, but further rises are still possible as upstream flows arrive overnight.

Prepare for flooding now. Take actions to protect your life and property against potential hazards caused by flooding.

There have been multiple reports of trees and branches down over roads and footpaths across Benalla Rural City.

Please be aware that there is a higher risk of falling trees following heavy rain.

Never park, rest or camp under large trees or branches, and be extra cautious of large trees with root systems in wet or sodden ground as these could give way unexpetedly.

Stay safe and if you come across a hazard, please contact Council on 03 5760 2600 so our crews can attend promptly.

This Moderate Flood Warning is being issued for the Broken River to Benalla.

The Broken River at Benalla is rising rapidly. The Broken River may reach the moderate flood level of 3.70 metres during Monday afternoon.

Rainfall across the Broken River catchments since Sunday has resulted river level rises and minor flooding.

Rainfall is forecast to continue for the reminder of Monday into Tuesday, which may result in further river level rises and areas of flooding along the Broken River.

Prepare for moderate flooding in Benalla now. Take actions to protect your life and property against potential hazards caused by flooding.

- Stay away from trees, flooded drains, culverts creeks and waterways. ✅
- Move indoors to a safe place. ✅
- 🚗Park your car undercover and away from trees. ✅

Look out for and avoid:
- 🌲Fallen and damaged trees.
- Damaged roads and debris.
- Fallen powerlines – always assume they’re live.
