Bongil Bongil National Park sits between Coffs Harbour and the Bellingen Shire, just a short drive from Urunga and Mylestom, and offers a beautiful mix of beach, forest and water-based adventure. Popular for fishing, mountain biking, walking and paddling.🚲🎣

There are wild beaches, a rainforest walking track, picnic and barbecue spots, guided tours during school holidays, and even holiday accommodation at Tuckers Rocks Cottage if you feel like staying longer. A beautiful winter weekend in Bellingen for big ideas, bold voices and a town full of literary energy. 🫶🎊

Returning for its 15th year from 5–7 June 2026, the Bellingen Readers & Writers Festival is bringing another standout program to town, including Richard Roxburgh, Virginia Trioli, Jack Thompson and Stan Grant. It’s a weekend for story lovers, deep thinkers and anyone who enjoys Bello buzzing with conversation and ideas. 💬📚

The free Fringe Festival is also back at Maam Gaduying Park, with conversations, performances, live music, open mic poetry, food vendors, coffee carts and a special opening night Local Author Celebration at Alternatives Bookshop. 🎤☕📖

🎸 River Sounds returns to the Bellingen Showgrounds on 15–16 May 2026, filling the town with a full weekend of live music, arts, food, markets and camping. Open to all ages, it’s set to bring a big festival energy to town.

One of Bellingen’s most-loved weekends is nearly here. 🐎✨

Since 1881, the Bellingen Show has been a celebration of rural life, local talent and community spirit — and it’s back on 9–10 May 2026.

🐄 From cattle and horses to woodchopping, poultry, pavilion displays, art, crafts and entertainment, the showground comes alive with all the colour, character and country energy that make this event such a local favourite.🪵

Held at the historic Bellingen Showground, it’s a weekend to wander, watch, cheer on competitors, catch up with friends and enjoy a classic country show experience with a distinctly Bellingen feel. 🌿

The 2026 program also includes the Bellingen Show Fun Run on Sunday, with 10km and 3km options.🏃
