Last night we borrowed the BA ( Breathing Apparatus) trailer from Country Fire Authority - District 13. We set up an obstacle course including carryng heavy equipment, walking up hills, and crawling under things, including a parachute. Some members also practiced hot door entry techniques and advancing a hose through rooms under a smoke layer.

If conditions remain suitable, there will be a planned burn taking place tomorrow around Temple Rd, Belgrave South.

🔥Planned Burn Notification🔥

Belgrave South and surrounding suburbs may see or smell smoke from the ignition of a CFA planned burn in the next few days.

If weather and site conditions remain suitable, CFA firefighters will ignite the following planned burn:
Belgrave South – Temple Road 1 (4.31 hectares)

This planned burn is being undertaken to reduce the impact of bushfire to residential buildings around Temple Road, Belgrave South.

Firefighters and emergency service vehicles will be operating in the area while the burn is completed.

We acknowledge this planned burn is occurring over the Easter long weekend; however, we are guided by suitable weather conditions and operational requirements and need to take the opportunities when weather conditions permit.

Conducting burns when conditions are right is critical to ensuring they can be carried out safely and effectively.

Who's excited for today? We are!

Make sure you come along today and celebrate with us - 100 years with the community, and 50 years since the original part of the station was built by our own volunteers.

11-4pm.

We've got:
🚒 Fire trucks, big and small. Today only, you can even get on the truck, and spray some water!

🎨 Face painting, temporary tattoos, colouring stations.

🧸 A special visit from Captain Koala!

🌭 A free BBQ - sausages and falafel (all day). Limited number of hot jam donuts, so come early. Tea and coffee also provided.

🖼 Displays and memorabilia over the years.

🔥 Live fire demonstrations!

🚒 Colouring competition with prizes (ages 12 and under).

The Fire Danger Period will be lifted on MONDAY 30 MARCH 1:00AM.

Please do not light any fires this week. You may notice some smoke around due to FFMVic burning around Mt Dandenong.

From next week, continue to practice safe burning off. Come and see us on Sunday from 11-4pm if you would like a refresher! 🔥

The Fire Danger Period for Knox City Council, Manningham Council, Maroondah City Council and Yarra Ranges Council will be lifted as of 1am Monday 30th March 2026.

If you burn off after the conclusion of the Fire Danger Period, please be mindful that it is easy to lose control of your small burn-off. You can refer to the CFA brochure ‘Are you burning off safely?’ to ensure your burn remains safe and legal. Take care and make sure you have water available at all times and never leave your burn-off unattended.

Your local CFA Brigade can provide you with advice on how to safely burn-off, and how to best prepare yourself and your property for the next fire season.

Before lighting a burn-off, we urge residents to always notify their neighbours and register their burn either online via firepermits.vic.gov.au or by calling the Burn-Off Notification Line on 1800 668 511.

Always check and adhere to your council’s local laws and regulations before burning off.

🚒 🌭🔫 We've got a free BBQ, facepainting and water games for the kids, information for the community, displays and memorabilia for all ages.

🔥 If the weather is in our favour, we'll even have live fire
demonstrations.

🎨 We are also running a colouring competition through the local schools. Don't forget to bring your completed entry on the day. There will be prizes for each age group!
