Guess who’s joining #1 Dads this Nov? Beechworth’s brilliant local talent Ruby Gill will be returning to our stage on 14 Nov for an intimate solo set alongside Tom of #1 Dads. Ruby’s upcoming album was recorded with Tom in London earlier this year, and the pair are heading out across Australia to celebrate their respective new offerings… And we get to enjoy the fruits of it all! This special performance at Old Stone Hall offers a rare opportunity to experience these songs as they were made—up close, unhurried and in a room built for listening. Join us for a free film screening of JIMPA, an uplifting multi-generational family story
Saturday August 29th ✨

Filmmaker Hannah (Olivia Colman) takes her teenager Frances (Aud Mason-Hyde) to Amsterdam, to visit their grandfather – lovingly known as “Jimpa” (John Lithgow). But Frances’ desire to stay with Jimpa for a year abroad means Hannah is forced to reconsider her beliefs about parenting and finally confront old stories about the past.

Funny, accessible, full of sadness and joy, and with a wonderful multi-generational cast, JIMPA is a celebration of LGBTQ+ culture. It brings a q***r family to screen, taking a nuanced look at just how much has changed in in terms of social expectation and our understanding of family over three generations.

When: Saturday 29th August, 5 pm
Where: The Old Stone Hall - 7 Church St, Beechworth
Who: Everyone is welcome
Cost: FREE

Snippets from a transcendental show with Leah Senior last Friday ✨ She really is one of the true folk singers of our country and it was an incredible show to host and witness! Punk flute solos, a hidden violin, deep love in the band, brilliant poetic lyrics about motherhood, mermaids, gentrification and jack hammers and soaring sister harmonies - it just couldn’t get any better. Thanks to everyone for your winter support and can’t wait to see you at the next ones 💛

Don’t miss our LAST winter show of the year this Friday night! 🔥 We’ll be cosying up for an incredible night of moving, catchy ‘baroque-folk’ from Australia’s best kept secret Leah Senior. She’s bringing her acclaimed bandmates Andi Senior (yes, that’s her sister!) and Jesse Williams (her partner and musical collaborator) along for the ride to celebrate her new record, which recently hit number 5 on the vinyl ARIA charts, and was awarded feature album on PBSfm. She’s known for her profound ability to combine “literary songwriting with folk traditions” and now she’s bringing it all to our hall this week in Beechworth! Lucky us! Last chance to get your tickets for this unmissable show - link in bio ✨
