Have you been issued a fire permit?

It’s important to understand the conditions of your permit. Ultimately it’s the permit holder’s responsibility to manage any fire on their property.

Be sure to read the conditions on your permit and ask the Fire Permit Officer any questions if you are uncertain. Then when you are ready to undertake the burning activity you need to plan ahead. There are a few steps we ask you to take:

✅ Check www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/fire-information/fdr-and-tobans to see what the predicted FIRE DANGER RATING is for the next 4 days
✅ Take a look at www.bom.gov.au to see where the predicted winds will come from and how strong they might be

Consider these factors, check your permit conditions and if everything looks safe, notify the RFS via www.rfs.nsw.gov.au no less than 24-hours in advance of burning. Tell your neighbours too - as these are also conditions of your permit.

If your uncertain chat to your local RFS brigade or contact our District Office on tel. 4424 4424.
