What a wonderful day at Beaconsfield House

Today we celebrated our seniors with a day full of connection, learning, community spirit, and inspiration.

Our celebrations began with a tour of our beautiful Community Garden, where participants met the dedicated gardeners behind this thriving space. Guests learned about the fresh produce grown throughout the year and heard firsthand about the passion, commitment, and teamwork that goes into maintaining a garden run entirely by volunteers.

Earlier this year, our talented Knitting Group lovingly sewed and donated handmade scarves to Guide Dogs Tasmania. Today, it was a pleasure to welcome representatives from Guide Dogs Tasmania to the House, giving our knitters the opportunity to connect and learn more about the important work they do in the community.

Our Diabetes Support Group also held its monthly meeting today, with Diabetes Tasmania delivering an informative and engaging presentation on diabetes management and healthy eating, providing practical tips to support health and wellbeing.

This is what Beaconsfield House is all about: bringing people together, creating connections, sharing knowledge, and building a stronger, healthier community.

Come along to Beaconsfield House's Gardening Chat Group!

This is a chat group, not a gardening working bee. There's no weeding, mowing or pruning involved. Instead, we gather to share ideas, exchange gardening knowledge, discuss seasonal planting, and enjoy good conversation with like-minded people.

Whether you're an experienced gardener or just enjoy learning about plants, flowers, vegetables and local gardens, everyone is welcome.

The Access to Health Services held their official project closure presentations today at Launceston Conference Centre. The eleven regional project support officers presented findings from their work.

Beaconsfield House is the lead organisation in West Tamar and has been granted an extension of this work to June 2027.

Mandy's presentation today outlined some key learnings on community development, asset mapping, funding, meeting people where they are at and the value of connection.

Current collection points in Beaconsfield - Beaconsfield House, West Tamar Pharmacy, Beaconsfield Family Medical Practice and Beaconsfield District Health Service.
Current collection points in Beauty Point- Cupboard Bakery, Beauty Point Post Office.
Current collection points in Greens Beach- Greens Beach Shop and Greens Beach Golf Club.
Frankford- arriving tomorrow afternoon at Blue Barn Cafe.

We will also be handing them out in Beaconsfield, Beauty Point and Exeter over the next few days!
